Bama Butterscotch is an energetic, loving, and cuddly 35-lb boxer pitbull terrier mix that is approximately 3 years old. She will be your BEST friend and a great companion around the house. She has a medium energy level and is okay even as an apartment dog, although she gets into trouble if left to wander the house alone for too long as she is very curious. She is housebroken and in just a few weeks has learned how to sit, shake, lay-down, stay, roll over, and even how to dance. We’re not sure she’d be good with cats or other dogs but seems to be very sweet with children. She rarely barks and is never the aggressor, but her curiosity and lack of social boundaries makes other dogs nervous. We think she’d do well in a training class that lets her socialize and learn to be around other dogs. Her leash training needs some work, but a Halti (head) collar works great on walks.
Bama’s diet is very specific. She has Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and can only eat foods with no grains. However, we seem to have found a dog food brand that works for her and she seems to have gotten on to a regular schedule. She would make a great friend for a child or person with food allergies. Her short hair and minor shedding make her a great hypoallergenic pet. She is also spayed, up to date on shots and ready for adoption!
Finally, Bama is C U T E-people will be stopping you on the street to admire and pet her! Please email adopt@rocketdogrescue.org if you would like to meet her!
