Hello, handsome! Meet Jethrow, a big Bluetick Coonhound boy. We think Jethrow is between 6 and 8 years old, and around 100 lbs. Jethrow is as loyal and devoted as they come – happy to wake up to his foster family in the morning, and then busy keeping tabs on where they are throughout the day. While he may have a streak of hound stubbornness, he is remarkably quick to learn and eager to please his people. He is an all around good boy and great companion.
Energy-wise, Jethrow is right in that sweet spot of middle age: mellow and easy-going at home, but still ready to join in on daily adventures. In fact, second only to breakfast and dinner, walks are just about his favorite activity, so his new family should be committed to at least one (and ideally more) a day. Bonus points if you are a light jogger, hiker, or camper, as Jethrow would be thrilled to accompany. He is great on leash, and is working on leash manners around other dogs he may happen to encounter while out and about.
Jethrow could potentially live with another friendly and submissive dog, but we think he will be happiest in a home where he is the only dog. No cats for this guy.
Potential adopters should have experience with large breeds and/or hounds! Jethrow’s adoption comes with two complementary training sessions with Kristina Trank of No Problem! Dog Training.
