Pierre is one lucky guy, but things were not looking so great for him a few weeks ago! First he landed in a very high-kill shelter after he apparently got lost from his people, then no one claimed him! Next, while at the shelter, he develops Kennal Cough (although it is similar to catching a cold, shelters cannot keep dogs with the slightest infection….)….by some incredible miracle, he was placed in “sick bay” where he regained his strength and recovered from his illness.
Now Pierre is ready to move onto his new adventure and his new home! He is frisky and likes other dogs, especially the girls! but he does not like bigger and/or pushier dogs. We are unsure about cats. He seems to be friendly to most adults and older children (9 and up), but we have not assessed him with younger kids yet.
Pierre should be enrolled into a basic obedience school so he learn basic commands with his new family.
Poodles are fabulous dogs who are intelligent and comical and family-oriented. There is a great deal of interest in poodle and poodle mixes because of their “hypoallergic” feature (they have hair, not fur)…However, poodles DO require daily brushing and grooming/hair cuts on a regular basis (which can easily add up in cost..) They are also energetic dogs that like exercise and play.
If you think that you and Pierre would be a good match, please complete the adoption questionaire. A volunteer will review it and contact you about setting up a meeting!
