nigel

It's hard to say enough good things about Nigel. He's the sweetest boy -- mellow, loving, cuddly. He especially likes snuggling, hugs and getting his ears scratched. And when he looks at you with those sweet, soulful eyes you'll just want to melt. Initially, Nigel was somewhat shy and skittish but since we've been fostering him, he's come out of his shell and become a very loving, sweet, obedient dog. We have three other dogs in the house from 30 to 80 lbs, and he's integrated into the pack quite nicely (he gives both his human and dog friends kisses!) He's a great guard dog and loves to sit in front of the window and watch for hours at a time. Nigel would be perfect for someone who wants faithful and true buddy, and a love bug to snuggle with on the couch.
Nigel's happy without much activity. He loves to romp around the garden with our other dogs, going on an on-leash walk and car rides. He's not the kind of dog to go nuts without a lot of exercise. That's a good thing because he will never be dog park dog. We think he may have been on his own for some time because he has a high prey drive and very strong protective instincts. He can't be trusted off leash or with smaller animals (dogs, cats, possums, etc.) and he can be a bit aggressive when approached by unknown dogs. Because of this, it's important that he live with with people that are OK with with a mostly indoor dog, and who are going to be responsible about keeping him away from strange dogs.
