This lovely girl was named after the fantastic main character in the Legend of Zelda...she is strong and overcomes adversity! Zelda is certainly overcoming adversity and getting stronger everyday! She was found wandering the streets near Bakersfield, starved and possibly pregnant, but sweet and calm to strangers and dogs. Her rescuer could not leave her on the streets and took her to the local shelter where Zelda was going to be euthanized due to her sad condition (she was NOT pregnant, but her belly was so bloated from malnourishment).

Rocket Dog Rescue could not let this poor sweet dog be put down because of horrible inhumane treatment. Zelda is slowly gaining weight and remains cheerful and sweet to people and other dogs (not tested with kitties). She is about one and a half years old, fifty lbs when filled out and has a lovely smooth coat.
