Meet Panson! He’s a 7 year old Dogue De Bordeaux (french mastiff) mix who was rescued from the Sacramento shelter when his owners left him behind because they were moving to a place that would not allow big dogs. Although Panson is a BIG boy, he is a gentle, loving soul. He loves to do the typical “mastiff” thing, and lean his whole body against your leg for pets and kisses. He’s still very playful and loves his toys and stuffed kongs. Panson does fine with big dogs. We think he should not go to a home with small dogs or cats due to his size. We would like to find someone who had experience with strong breed dogs, or someone who’s had a mastiff before. He’s been neutered, has all shots and is chipped. His tail is docked.

Adia is a beautiful shepard mix (18 mos old, 50 lbs.) who was brought to Rocket Dog Rescue as a 1 week old pup with her 13 siblings! (Yep, you read that right!). Her family must relocate to a new country and she will not have the same quality of life….She’s all around a great girl, and is so well behaved. She’s learned all her commands, and just loves her people. Adia loves other dogs, and is housetrained and does well in the house. She’s spayed, has all her shots & microchipped! What a Catch! CeCe is such a lovable girl and you would NEVER believe she is 10 years old. She has a true zest for life and especially her people. She likes nothing better than to curl up on the couch next to you and just be there for you. She’s not picky about what you watch on the tube, she will just hang out and be sure you are happy.

CeCe lost her people of 10 years when her family had to give up their home and could not take her to their new place. Hard to believe this veteran family dog had to start all over again. She has adjusted very well in her foster home. They said she was an outdoor dog before, but the indoors suit her just fine and actually she prefers it.

She is fantastic with other dogs and is compliant in all ways. CeCe is quiet, house-trained, and only requires a short walk each day…but, she would like a low-key romp on the beach at least every few weeks if you could find the time to join her….she says you would really enjoy it too and it would be good way to “get away”…but its really not a mandatory thing at all.

If you are looking for a mellow and simple girlfriend….She is quite a catch !

Meet Delilah! She’s adorable 10-12 week old puppy with a great demeanor and zest for life! Her mommy was a shepherd mix around 4olbs and we don’t know the daddy. Meet our Little Texas Beauty, Thelma! This lovely 8 month old Weimeraner mix was saved by a couple of RDR volunteers from a rural kill shelter in South Texas. She endured the long flight from Austin to find her forever home in the Bay Area of California. Thelma has come a long way from her “street ways” to learning house manners and is very close to being house-trained. She likes and gets along with all dogs and more than anything she loves to go for a romp on the beach splash around in the waves. Meet Luca! He’s a beautiful and stunning 12 month old purebred Braque du Bourbonnais (a french pointer.) They are an amazing breed. Loyal, smart, eager to please & energetic. Luca has proved to be just that! He won over the hearts of everyone at the shelter, and we just knew we had to get him out. Luca is playful and loving, and still very much a pup so he needs some training to work on his basics & someone who can give him the exercise he needs. We think Luca would be fine in a home with another dog as he LOVES to play. He’s all around a great dog, looking for his forever home! Luca has been nuetered, has all shots & is micochipped.

Marcie is almost four mos old, a bundle of energy, and sassiness! She is a shepard mix who we “guess” may be about 35-40 lbs when full grown. She has an incredibly soft and thick furry caramel colored coat, lovely pert ears (that hear everything!) and an appetite for food and LIFE! She loves playing with other dogs, and is going to make an excellent family dog. She should attend puppy classes when of age to help her with learning lots of new things!

Rex is a really nice 8 year old English Lab who is searching for his new home! This boy is pretty happy by nature but still, he sure would love a family of his own!

He is a soft hearted guy who is well behaved, housebroken, crate-trained, likes other dogs (except for some large male dogs make him edgy), he loves all people, his only real “rough spot” is that he should probably loose a couple of pounds but that pretty much comes with the territory when you are a lab .

Rex really is a nice dog, he will add a warmth and sweetness to your home as he greets you every day with his big bright smile… Rex would be best suited in a home with kids over 16 or an adult home

Meet Suzi! She’s a fabulous, loving & loyal 10 month old pittie mix who’s full of love. Suzi came from the shelter where she had been passed up by, by the smaller dog or the younger dog next to her. She loves her people & thinks she’s a lap dog and will jump right into your lap & shower you with kisses. This precious girl is so devoted and eager to please. Lady Godiva

Little Lady Godiva is the ultimate poodle! She is a lightweight at 6 lbs and is 2 years old., with a beautiful blue-gray coat (unfortunately it was very matted when she was at the shelter, so her coat was shaved…). She is sweet, loves all people and is good with other dogs. The shelter said that she was also good with cats, but this has not been confirmed as her foster mom does not have any cats! She enjoys relaxing on her plush bed in her crate and would love to snuggle up and watch TV with you. She’s a great girl!

Meet Poncho! He’s a 5-6 year old little guy (8lbs) but could lose some weight He’s a super cute, super silly boy who will entertain you with his BIG personality. He is one of our favorite boys around- he is currently in foster care with other dogs & does well, although I think he’d like to be the king of his house . He does have a habit of running over to everyone’s left overs and gulping it down, after he eats his bowl of food. He’s a character for sure! Poncho’s ideal home would be with 1-2 people & not lots of strangers coming over. Luna Bella

Meet Luna Bella, a sweet girl who didn’t get much love earlier on in her life but that doesn’t stopping her from hoping and being affectionate.

She’s a cream colored terrier girl with a shaggy, scruffy coat yet is quite long, like a doxie. She came to us from the Martinez shelter and is approximately 1 year old.

Luna Bella is a cuddle bug, loves being near you yet is crate trained and sleeps through the night without a peep. When you point to her crate, she’ll immediately jump in! Toys are new and she is discovering the concept of playing however, isn’t exactly sure what to do with them….bite them but then what?? I’ll give her credit because she is curious. I think she’ll get the hang of it in a few days (she just arrived!)

Luna Bella is happy, playful, has got terrier style spunk but isn’t too hyper and is attentive to corrections. OH, and she can jump pretty high, get onto my recliner through the side (think leaping over the arm portion on the side) squeeze herself behind my back, rub against me and give me a massage with her little claws. Too cute. She is a bit nervous around new people, acts friendly and curious so if you talk with a funny or baby voice, she totally gets excited. She’s learning that life is good and will come say hi, give you a quick kiss [lick] then run off and return until she’ll realize that nothing bad will happen and continue to get affection and ear rubs. Luna Bella is quiet around the house, doesn’t get into trouble and is an overall good girl. She is working on learning basic commands and is treat motivated.

She can’t wait to find a home who will love her as much as she would love them.

· I come fully loaded with all kinds of doggie accessories: sweater, chew toys, standing feeder, extra doggie bowls, Easy Walk harness, crate, a cool Orvis doggie bed, and my baby blanket that I love just like Linus does. (Charlie Brown!)

The Big Adventure of Mr. Big
Let us introduce you to Mr. Big who got his name because he has one for the biggest hearts we have ever seen! This sweet young boy was found on Thanksgiving Day, scared to death in the pouring rain near Sacramento. Had we not rescued him, his fate could have been much different—ending up in the wrong hands or being sent to a shelter where he would have been euthanized. We immediately took him in and that is when we realized what a special boy he is!

Mr. Big loves to cuddle with us and to play with his housemates, a 13-year-old Lab, an Australian Cattle Dog, and a tiny Chihuahua who are his new best friends. We don’t know for sure, but he would probably be best in a home with no kitties—he has a pretty strong chase instinct! He’s been through hell, yet you would never know—the love and trust he has is abundant—from his doggie housemates to everyone who has visited our house. He truly is an ambassador to the breed and would even make a great therapy dog!

We would love to keep him, but our Lab is very sick and on chemo. Even though the baby boy adores her, she needs to stay calm and the energy of a young dog is just too much for her; so we are in immediate need of a beautiful and everlasting home for this boy.

Like all dogs he does have his challenges, and we are working with him to help build his confidence back. If you are that everlasting home he so deserves and we urgently need, please call us and we’d be happy to tell you more about him and set up a “meet and greet”!

Lucinda is the undisputed queen of all bloodhound girls. This girl is a striking beauty with her shiny soft golden hair and her amber eyes. Lucinda has graceful long legs and a sleek body. She is, in all ways, a hound .. So as sleek and graceful as she looks this girl is a big ol’ clumsy dork. She will never fail to entertain you or brighten up even a cold cloudy day. Lucinda is a young adult, about a year or two, very puppy like and silly sweet, she loves her dog friends and every single toy they have is HERS and they dont seem to care …

Lucinda is not for a first time dog caretaker cause she does need some basic skills, ( like walking on a leash with all 4 feet on the ground ) or greeting you sweetly with a little wag (not tackling you like a football player) Lucinda really is a super special amazing hound dog girl- please don’t get me wrong- she is just a pup and needs you to teach her all the stuff she needs. She is a good girl and loves you and wants to please you so learning is gonna be a breeze .. Some basic information about hounds: not to be an off leash dog! Also: not really “obedient” but still awesome! And: they can be wary of strangers so it’s important to work on that (they are easily bribed to love strangers with cookies) don’t forget: hounds don’t bark, they “bay”.. So you kinda have to love that ..

Leon is an amazing one if a kind dog! He is ridiculously cute, has a happy outgoing personality and is guaranteed to get you at least one good date!

Ok, I kid- you are on your own as far as the “date” thing but the rest is ALL TRUE, leon is a spectacular dog that will bring much joy and sweetness to your life..

Leon is cool (as you can plainly see) and he is well behaved when riding around in the car and hanging out while you work.. He is a year old, so he definitely acts like a pup still & needs some basic leash training & stuff, they said Leon is a tri-color husky/shepherd mix but honestly, your guess is as good as mine ; )

Bonnie is a striking beauty – inside and out! She greets every body with a soft sweet smile & gazes up at you with warm gentle eyes. She really is a special girl who, at only 2 years old, found herself left behind at a shelter. Every day she would light up as people came to see her but sadly, was never adopted. Luckily rocket dog was able to step in to save her and we could not be happier ! She is like a ray of sunshine – adding her funny special kind of sweetness..

Bonnie just turned 2 years old, she is a large girl but carries it well ; ) She seems to enjoy her dog friends but would like to be the only dog or possibly a home with a nice older dog boy friend would be nice.. She is learning basic training, is housebroken, crate-trained, and has two different colored eyes- one brown, one blue-super sassy-cute!!! You could never hope to meet a nicer girl!!

Boogie URGENTLY needs a foster home! He’s currently at the city shelter. Boogie Woogie is a 5yrs old male pitbull who’s been at the shelter for months!! He quickly became everyones favorite and is a gentle sweet soul. He did great on his dog to dog test and keeps himself busy with trying to fit a third tennis ball in his mouth. This guy might look up there in age but he can still catch a tennis ball in the air and still has a lot of life and love to give! Boogie is a fantastic dog& deserves a great home…

Meet Louie! He’s a 4 year old Miniature Poodle. Sweet Louie came to us from the San Jose Shelter where he was left outside in the parking lot. We don’t know what his life was like before, or how he ended up at the animal shelter- but we do know that he’s a darling boy & seems like he was someone’s loved pet. Louie weighs about 14lbs and is an adorable little white fluffy boy. He has hair, not fur so he does not shed.

Louie is being fostered with a cat and 2 small dogs, both of whom he is very respectful of. He’s a true gentlemen and is eager to please his people. He absolutely loves being around you and will snuggle up next to you while you watch tv. He also will sneak gentle little kisses every now and then. This boy is extremely loyal and true to his people. . . He walks well on leash, and really enjoys his outings. He sleeps right through the night, and enjoys sleeping with you. He won’t move until you get up. Louie is a real gentle boy & is always very happy.

An ideal home for Louie would be someone who is home often or able to bring Louie to work with them. He really would much rather be with his people, then left home alone all day. He would be fine in a home with cats, or another small dog (but I do think he secretly would love to be the only dog & get all the attention.)

Meet Charles! He’s a 3 year old Beagle who weighs about 40lbs. He has soulful expressive eyes of gold, fur of velvet texture with little or no shedding and the mildest, sweetest temperament you’ll ever see. He has a great sense of adventure. His favorite thing is to cuddle and just be with his people. He has a major intrest in life, that is to eat anything yummy he can find. He enjoys carrots as a daily snack.

He plays well with other dogs, he loves his walks, but he mostly loves the dog park. He knows how to stay, sit and come on command and is eager to learn more and please his people. Charles is housebroken and a total gentlemen in the home. He will be a loyal and devoted companion to his new adoptive family.

Linus is a lucky boy….he was saved at the last minute from a high-kill shelter and is ever so grateful!!!! This boy is said to be three years old, about 15 lbs., and has impeccable manners….who could forget to look for their boy?? Rudy is a handsome, 5 year old, 68 pound bundle of devotion. If you’re searching for a companion who’ll rest his head on your lap while you’re on the computer or lay at your feet in front of the television, then this boy’s for you. He was abandoned on a trail and taken in by a family that would have loved to keep him, but already had three dogs, a rabbit and three children, so we are looking to find a stable forever home for this awesome guy. He’d probably be best as an only dog in a setting with adults only or children over 12.

Rudy’s got a great dog “smile” for you when you come home and the most exuberant wag in the universe. He’s great on a leash, has hiked off leash (comes when he’s called), and especially enjoys spending quiet time with his people, a soft bed in a sunny window are what he wants most in the world. If you’re ready to welcome a playful, energetic and sweet beautiful girl into your family, Mia is your gal. This sweet silly girl just won my heart with her light hearted spirit. She wanted to play and give me all the love she had. Another dog was passing by while we were playing, and all she wanted was to have a chance to play with another dog, not just me.

She is definitely an energetic girl, and would do well with someone who would have a space for her to play and run. She was also very gentle when she came up to me, and didn’t overpower me. She didn’t jump on me, and seemed eager to please. She was easy to leash, and also when walking by the kennels with the other dogs, was just excited, and seemed very comfortable. She is so wiggly and happy to see everyone she meets…

Cali would do well with someone who is up for adventure- take her out for walks and hikes – though she is happy to hang out on the couch and watch movies with you too. Mia is not good with cats (sorry kitties)..

Meet Wilma! She is one beautiful little Shepherd/Beagle, maybe Boxer mix. She came to us from the central shelter with her puppies. Her puppies are all ready for there new homes, and so is this princess! We think she is around 3-4 years old. She is a small girl at only about 35lbs. She is a gentle gal, loves her people and is great with other dogs. She is so affectionate & will always roll over for a belly rub! Wilma also enjoys car rides, and will gladly sit in the front with you. Wilma is crate trained, and does well in the house.

CJ is an adorable 20 pound (or a little more?) Jack Russell Terrier - this really great dog was not given up because he was “bad” but because his family lost their home. They were devastated to give CJ up – he hads proven himself to be a strong, loyal & devoted friend. He was amazing with the family ( including young children ) CJ is a perfect size, not tiny, not big CJ is 6 years old, with a nice calm & mellow personality. He has energy to go for walks & hikes but is just as happy to snuggle and watch a movie all day (the perfect guy!)

Meet Macy Grey! She’s a beautiful one year old female pitty weighing only 40lbs. She’s a short little girl. Macy is a loving, smart, and beautiful dog. She just loves everyone she meets, and her tail never stops wagging. She wants nothing more than to be with her people. Her favorite thing of all is getting belly rubs, she will always roll over ready for a tummy rub. Macy’s an active gal who loves a good game of fetch, and will always bring back the ball and drop it on command.

Macy loves other dogs too, and is always up for some doggie play time. Macy has been through professional training and knows all of her commands and is extremely obedient, and walks great on leash. Macy would do fine living in a home with another dog, as she used to live with a tiny toy poodle. This darling girl so much deserves a home, and she promises she will repay you with lots of kisses & be a good girl.

Jiggy

This handsome boy is a shelter favorite and will teach anyone that it’s what is on the inside that counts! Jiggy has been bruised, but he is not broken!

Jiggy was found roaming the streets, dragging a cable that was tied to his chain collar. He has multiple scars down his neck & back & more on his hind legs. Animal Control believes he was badly burned or dragged. Jiggy was not at all afraid of the shelter staff & was very calm and gentle while the shelter staff examined him. He was so thankful for some food and water they gave him. Jiggy is a fabulous boy and is now in foster care & doing fabulous. His foster parents just Adore him! He is housebroken and crate trained and walks well on leash & is a total charmer- He thinks he’s a big puppy!

Meet Toto- my goodness this dog is cute and sweet! As you can see even in the subpar photos, Toto is fluffy and adorable I am guessing he is a maltipoo or some other mix with a poodle. He is around 1 year old, about 13 pounds, up to date on his shots, neutered and microchipped. He is untested with cats.

We are working on crate training him, and he has been sleeping quietly in his crate at night. He is affectionate and friendly, though he can be a little skittish at times. He is mostly house trained, though needs a little more work (establish clear routine and taken out regularly). He is friendly with my two dogs.

Handsome Hank is a mix up all all the coolest dogs. Possibly some hound, lab, shepherd. We just dont know, he is a true beauty of mixed heritage ; )

This (really) good boy is estimated to be 5-6 years old but seems younger to me. he is cool, cooperative, helpful, he likes to be your right hand man, your buddy, your side-kick

Handsome Hank seems to really enjoy the company of other dogs, he even seems to like small dogs as his favorite. Aw ..what a nice boy

I would say that this guy would do best in a home with older children, or adults only. not toddlers, or kids under 10. (not because he has acted poorly) but because he has a certain calm steady roll that might not really fit with a young child’s energy.

Handsome Hank is well behaved, quiet, crate trained, happy, loving and just the coolest guy..

Meet Arctic! He’s a handsome 3 year old purebred white siberian husky! This handsome boy came to us from Sacramento, where sadly he was surrendered by his owners because they were having a baby & did not want a dog around the baby. Poor little Artic, a loyal and gentle soul was sad and confused as he was left behind. This boy won over the hearts of many shelter volunteers and they fought hard to make sure he got out of the shelter.

Artic is still a little shy and getting used to new surroundings. We don’t blame him, as he must be confused. He’s a handsome guy and gets compliments everywhere he goes! He walks well on leash, has a good amount of energy & would love being the only dog in the home or with a submissive easy going dog. He is an amazing boy and is going to make someone VERY happy. Breed Experience is a plus for this boy! He’s your typical husky, loving and loyal.

Shelby is one lucky dog! Rocket Dog rescued her from the high kill Bakersfield shelter after local volunteers begged for Rocket Dog to save her. Shelby is very happy to be out of the shelter- all she needs now is a forever home. Shelby is around 5 years old and is a mini-mutt! We are not sure what her breed is, but she kind of looks like a mini-corgi. She weighs about 10 lbs. Shelby is very friendly and sweet. She is crate trained and house trained. She gets along with my two dogs. She is untested with cats, but I think she would be fine. She is spayed and up to date on her shots.

Hudson

Hudson is a handsome, black and brindle 5-month-old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy! He has a big, strong name to compensate for the fact that he will grow up to be a compact little guy (he is currently 18 pounds and we estimate he will grow to 30-35 pounds).

He is an extraordinary puppy who survived parvovirus. With direct love and care from Pali (Rocket Dog Rescue Founder) and dedicated volunteers, Hudson is thriving and is an adoption event favorite! Children especially love this sweet boy.

He is recovering from a non-contagious and treatable skin condition, demodectic mange, and his hair is growing back nicely.

Hudson is a curious puppy and loves exploring new environments. He is working on crate training and basic manners. A name like Hudson means he can only be a gentleman.

“Critter is an adorable tan Chihuahua, approximately 8-9 pounds and about a year old. She came into the San Francisco shelter in August with 14 other Chihuahuas from a hoarding case, where she lived in one room with just the other dogs for most if not all of her life. She needed and received foster help immediately to help her develop trust and socialization skills with people, and has made enormous progress in becoming a very confident little girl. She is fun and now kind of has the personality of a puppy, which is great because she never really got a chance to be the one..

Once she quickly warms up to you, she becomes extremely affectionate, wanting to sit on your lap with her tail continuously wagging. Because of her background, she is still a little fearful of the outdoors, and is still learning what walking on a leash is all about. She can be very playful and high energy, but once she’s worn out, she is very content to curl up next to you on the couch for a nap, and she definitely likes to sleep with you, if she is given that option. Due to her fear issues, she would probably do best in an adult-only household, and would do wonderfully in either a house or apartment situation.”

Meet Riley, with his warm soulful eyes and his laid beck personality, Riley really is such a cool guy.. The shelter estimated him to be close to 8 years (but we think that he is a much younger guy. He is funny, gentle and chill – his personality is wonderful! Riley is, we are guessing, a big ol mix of hound, Shepard, possibly lab (?) there has been some speculation that he might be an old blues musician that has been reincarnated into a (cool) dog. He seems to get along with dogs but gets annoyed if they are right up in his grill ( ..I have to say, I do too…)Riley is a great dog with a lot of soul ready to add some serious love to your life!

- He’s very Affectionate toward adults & LOVES kisses!
- Loves to play fetch and is an excellent ball player
- Energy level is medium-low; seems content to chill out most of the day
- Can be left alone for long stretches 7+ hours (no barking when we
leave, no property destruction, no in-house accidents)
- He was 100% calm and cooperative when given a bath
- He knows some commands (“sit” with a hand command, “stay”, and “drop
it” with the ball)
- Seems to be able to entertain himself with a rope and/or ball
- Needs minimal grooming (1 brush a week)

RILEY NEEDS AN ADULT HOME ONLY AND TO BE THE ONLY DOG IN THE HOUSE. He is going to make an excellent companion.

Meet Layla! She’s a beautiful purebred Dachsund who weighs 12lbs, and we think is around 5 years old. She came to us from the San Jose Shelter where she was found as a as a stray, and no one came to redeem her. How anyone could not come looking for this darling, we have no clue. Layla is a true joy to have around and is quite a people pleaser. She is just darling, and likes to spend her days lounging outside or curled up on the couch watching tv with you.

She is also always up for a nice walk to the park, and is very respectful of other dogs, and great with meeting new people. So far, Layla has not barked even once in her foster home, which is surprising for a Dachsund. She’s all around a happy go lucky girl, who is always wagging her tail & will jump into your lap to shower you with kisses. She has a overbite, so sometimes her tounge will hang out of her mouth a little- which is quite adorable! Layla has been spayed, chipped, has all her shots.

Summer is a gorgeous 2-year old basset hound & Lab mix. She’s only 30lbs and is super short like a basset! She is house trained and crate trained as well. She is pretty mellow when indoors and loves taking long naps and is a happy-go-lucky kinda girl. She loves her toys and plays fetch. She knows her “sit” command now. A great companion to cuddle up in the sofa and watch TV with. It is very cute when she turns around and requests belly rubs.

She also makes piglet-like sounds when she is being rubbed on the belly! She is very well behaved and loves to go out on long walks. She’s a darling and quite a head turner. She loves everyone she meets and gets along with other dogs. She would prefer to be the only dog in the household though. Summer is up to date on shots and microchipped as well. She is ready for her forever home. She is just an adorable little dog and is going to make someone very happy! Summer needs a home without kitties.

Bubbah

OH, little Bubba…Bubba was adopted as a young, young pup and did not get enough attention as his owner ended up traveling alot more for her job that she anticipated….when he came back to Rocket Dog Rescue, he was shy and scared. But he has since made great strides in his social skills….he is being fostered with otehr dogs and now loves to run and play, often initiating any chasing games. Although he does not live with one currently, he even seems somewhat tolerant of cats….

Bubba is about 1 1/2 yrs old, 16 lbs., housetrained, crate trained, and good on leash. He is a mix of shepard/corgi/supreme cuteness.He could use some remedial obedience training to brush up on those skills and to get to know his new owner (and vice versa)…..He does not mind children,but he would do best in a home with school-age or older kids. He is sensitive about being picked up by people he does not know…..a carry-over from his scared-y cat days…..

Meet Jasper! He’s a sweet older (5-7 year old) Bluetick Coon Hound who came to us from a rural shelter where he sadly ran out of time. I walked Jaspar the day before Thanksgiving and can attest to his being sweet soul who loves to explore, hang with people, and enjoys all the love and treats he can get. In general, Bluetick Coon Hounds are gentle with children and loyal, loving pets. They are, like their hound counterparts, very intelligent breeds, with an uncanny knack for problem solving. Jaspar certainly fits this description. Bluticks can be particularly problematic if they are confined to a household or too small a yard, and one should give this breed plenty of space. Perhaps even a garden maze to solve! Once trained, the breed is very mindful of its guardian. Here’s a little trivia for you, the breed was made famous in Neil Young’s song “Old King” which is about his beloved Bluetick Coon Hound. She’s a precious and absolutely stunning hound girl whos about one year old and came to us from a rural shelter where she was taken from her owner who could not properly care for her because of the amount of dogs they had. Skipper

Skipper is a 5 yr old purebred Jack Russell Terrier. His owner passed away and he went to live with her daughter for a few months. However, when the daughter lost her home to foreclosure, she had to relinquish poor Skipper to the shelter. He has been through so much upheaval in his life recently, we believe that he is depressed….it is apparent by watching his body language.

While he does make an effort to be accepting of other dogs, he does not want to engage in silly play. He does like soft voices and is now accepting of gentle hugs. He was scared when he first arrived to Rocket Dog, but he is slowly warming up and is becoming quite a confident boy. He has a good appetite and likes to go on walks; he is good on leash. He is quiet and is used to his crate.

Skipper would do best in a home with adults and older children (over 13 yrs old). Skipper is unsure of his life right now and really needs a stable routine and environment. Patience will be required when taking this sweet boy into your home….but it will be worth it …underneath the shy facade, Skipper is a true gem….

Meet Cedric, a Loyal Yorkshire and Chihuahua mix. He is a wonderful guard-dog, and is quieted when told. I think hes between the ages of two and four. I have been fostering him for about a month now and it has been amazing to see his true colors come out. He loves women and kids, not a huge man fan, but once his familiar with you he will guard you too! He loves to play hide and go seek with his bones, and run. Hes a fast guy that loves to play. He is house trained and knows commands such as sit, up-up and dance (which is a turn or 3!) down and no pull. He also knows his name very well and comes whenever he is called or whistled for. He is good on leash and since I have a fenced in big backyard I have seen that his off leash skills are excellent! He is very entertaining –hinting at the name. Cedric will reward you with many many kisses when you come home each and every-time!

Meet Jamie! This adorable 8 month old sweet shepherd mix pup was adopted by a college student who realized after a few months he did not have time for a puppy with his busy schedule. He came from Los Angeles, but soon made his way to us here in bay area, and we’re sure happy he did! Dudley is an amazing gentle soul, his heart beats true – he is a devoted, loyal and stead fast friend. Dudley is a tall handsome older man Doberman (who i love fiercely) can you tell

This good boy is estimated to be 8 years old. He is a little unsteady at times due to a fused vertebrea..
( it’s an older man thing)

But Dudley would never show you his old man side, in his heart he remains strong, able to run with a graceful stride – by your side at all times, ready to jump in the car, run up stairs..in reality he is wobbly when he runs and I secretly help him “leap” into the car .. but I’m not tellin’

he is a great dog- truly- one of my favorite dogs I’ve met thru the years. I could (and have) sit with him for hours, stroking his shiny fur, giving him kisses on the top of his pointed little head. Dudley IS an older dog..with old dog stiffness and old dog breath and little grey hairs and stuff.. But there is a love that just pours from him.
I honestly feel blessed for being given the chance to spend time with him. Please give Dudley a chance – you will never be sorry..

Cher & Gizmo

Cher and Gizmo are a sweet senior couple who would love to spend their golden years together with a family to love them. They were surrendered to Rocket Dog Rescue by their owner, when the owner moved away and was unable to take them. They are a very bonded pair, and we need to find them a home together.

Cher is a 14 year old, apricot colored toy poodle. She is very sweet and friendly, and gets along with people and other dogs. She loves to be held, and would love nothing more than to sit on your lap or be carried around all day. Gizmo is a 13 year old black and white parti-color lhasa apso. He is wary of strangers, but if he knows you he’s very sweet and affectionate. He loves to snuggle and give kisses.

Cher and Gizmo are both housebroken and crate trained. They’re minimal shedders, great for people with allergies (or just an aversion to cleaning up pet hair), but will need to be brushed regularly to prevent their fur from matting if it’s left to grow long. They’re spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and have no known health issues. Because of their age and size, they would be best suited to a family with no children, or older children. They’re the perfect pets for a retired person or couple who is home all day and would like companionship, as they are low energy and have minimal exercise needs. They could also do well with a family that is at work/school during the day, as they are happy to nap in their crate together while waiting for you to come home.

This sweet little Brussels Griffon mix is a bit shy at first but loves being with her people and being held and snuggling. She is about 8 months old and came from the hospital where she was surrendered because her family could not afford to care for her. She had been dropped on her head from 6 ft onto concrete and was having seizures. She was treated for the seizures and got much better but she still seems a little confused sometimes, and has occasional seizures so she will need a home with people who are able to spend a lot of time with her. She may go back on medication but right now the vet wants her little body to grow as strong as possible. She is learning to pee on pee pads but will need some more time spent to help her learn the outdoors is her potty. Also, probably because of being at the hospital she does not do well in a crate.

She is currently living with a big dog who she gets along well with and enjoys meeting other pups at the dog park as long as they are not too pushy. She loves to play with her foster sister or with plush toys and prances around your feet just happy to be with her person. She will need lots of love and attention but will return it with lots of kisses and cuddles. Please help this little girl have a second chance at life.

Meet Elmo!! He’s a darling, and very handsome 3 year old pitbull terrier mix who is coming to us from a shelter in Grass Valley where this poor boy was found roaming around all alone. Luckily, he has a fan club and is a shelter favorite and everyone wants to see this boy in a forever home! (He is about 50lbs. ) He’s housetrained and plays well with other dogs! He’s quite a lap dog his foster dad says!

Woody is an energetic, handsome young 8 year old. He has been well cared for, and through no fault of his own ended up at a shelter. He was owner surrendered due to the owner moving. He didn’t want to share his house I guess- then, I was adopted out but the people who adopted me lost there place & returned me back to RD. Buzz

Meet Buzz! He’s a sweet 4 year old Pointer mix with stunning icy blue eyes who was saved from the Lake County Animal Shelter. This boy was a favorite up there, and everyone wanted to see him make it out alive- Buzz is deaf and cannot hear but he’s extremely well trained and was trained all of his commands with hand signals which he responds very well too. Buzz is going to make someone an excellent companion. He really loves his people, and bonds strongly to them. He wants nothing more than to be with his people, and snuggle up and give kisses- Buzz does get along well with dogs and lives with other dogs- but we think he’d love being the only dog in the home! We think an ideal home for Buzz would be in the Country or somewhere outside of a busy city, which can be overwhelming for this sweet boy. He loves to run and enjoys nice walks, but will gladly hang out inside the house & just take a few naps. Buzz is crate trained and does well in the house, but will sometimes bark if he see’s a shadow or a new person coming to the house.

Buzz is a truly wonderful boy- who will need a special home, preferably someone who has had a deaf dog and lives outside of the busy city- Buzz has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on all his shots.

Patch

Meet Patch! Patch was found as an underage puppy hanging out on the sidewalk all by himself at 8weeks old! He’s about a year old now- Shortly after this guy ended up at San Francisco Animal Care and Control he was diagnosed with a heart murmur with a possible enlarged heart, looking past his possible medical situation Grateful Dogs Rescue pulled this guy out and are so glad they did!! He does have a heart condition called Pulmonary valve stenosis which lots of dogs have many of which are undiagnosed. Patch is good about giving himself breaks on the walks and not over doing it too much, which is the main management with this condition. He does not require meds at this time and there is a chance he won’t need them at all. Patch is a little nervous around new people and new surroundings but after he settles in he’s a love muffin!! Throwing himself on his back and requesting belly rubs, nibbling on ears and who can resist. He’s been nothing but a gentle boy and gets along great with other dogs, and does well with everyone he meets! Patch is a great boy looking for a forever home!

Meet Sydney! She’s a stunning 10 month old shepherd/Husky mix we think. She is just beautiful and gets compliments everywhere she goes! Sydney loves all people, and gets along well with other dogs. She’s an active, agile girl and enjoys outings at the beach and will even go swimming. Sydney would do great in a home with another dog, male or female as she enjoys playing with other dogs.

She is not destructive when left alone, and is not a barker (unless she’s super excited when playing!) She is highly trainable and eager to please, and already has done sit and stay. Sydney is spayed, has all shots and microchiped! This is a fantastic young lady and she is going to make someone very happy!

“Milo” is a young dog..something around a year old…that just came to us the other day from Selma CA. The shelter there is brimming with dogs and he is extremely lucky to have made the cut and made it here, much more than 90 percent are euthanized due to lack of space, and his number was up the next day when Rocket Dog saw him on the rescue list.

He’s a lovable, likeable family dog, and has been getting along very well in my home with my 2 other dogs. He’s highly trainable, very smart, and eager to please. Housebroken and considerate, does not want to get on the wrong side of his person. He has the bearing and smarts of a border collie; but resembles a miniature great dane if there ever was such a thing. He’s an energetic boy (as collie’s are) so would do best in an active home! He’s lanky but agile, becoming more confident by the day as his star rises.

Nuetered, up to date on shots and microchipped.

Marlow is a basset hound and a pitbull mix. The first thing everyone notices is his pitbull head and the long body of a basset hound. Everyone just adores him. His demeanor is just plain amazing. He’s very calm and very loving. He loves to be pet and would cuddle up on your lap if you sit on the floor. Be forewarned that you will get loads of kisses! He’s very friendly to both people and his other dog pals. He seems very indifferent towards cats.

Don’t let his body fool you – he loves to run and chase balls. He loves his chew toys and bones. Not a picky eater at all. He loves to go out. He is great riding in the car. He is great on leash and knows his “sit” command now. He’s house trained, microchipped and up to date on shots. It’s very unfortunate that such a good dog ended up in a high-kill shelter – he’s just too sweet. This boy will make someone very happy. Marlow has his bags packed and is looking for his forever home.

Meet Amy. She has a sad story:

If the lady passing by had not seen the garbage bag move, this little dog inside would have died. . .

This little Terrier mix girl was thrown away. Worse. She was trapped alive inside two plastic bags and stuffed into a box. The Kern County shelter veterinarian said it looked as though she’d been tossed from a car. She had her head out of the bag through a hole, but either she had been inside the bag, cut off from air, for awhile or the bags had wrapped tight around her neck. Some blood vessels in her eyes had ruptured from her almost being asphyxiated.

This girl is darling, she’s only 5lbs and we believe she’s a terrier mix and around 1-2 years old. She’s now safe and with rocket dog! She is a shy girl and has to learn to trust people again (we don’t blame her) so she would do best in a quiet, calm household. She is just adorable!

Gigi is coming to rocket dog rescue!! This lovely 10 month old yellow lab mix is very shy and uncertain, Sadly DD (her original name) was just left abandoned in a ditch and found by some people who took her in and named her DD (“ditch dog”) Gigi (we changed it a little to brighten her day) was brought to a shelter when they could no longer care for her – it is so sad that this nice girl has had so many changes and little consistency .. Gigi loves other dogs and all the people she meets (once she feels trusting) she is a really good sweet beautiful girl and is ready to move into a real home and learn to trust and learn some good skills .. Meet Gordon! He’s a darling 5-6 month old Labrador mix puppy. He’s very affectionate, intelligent, and responsive…he has a great future ahead of him. He would do very well with a family or a couple, and would prefer to spend as much time as possible with his people. He’s housebroken, has basic commands, and recall is good but of course, all of these points need work to improve and maintain. I’m pretty sure the other part of him is border collie, tempered by his lab sensibilities so he’s smart, but not hyper. He’s an active boy and loves playing with his other dog friends!

Meet Queen Ida! She’a a beautiful 5 year old Bull Mastiff Mix who was saved from the Sacramento Shelter when she ran out of time, due to no fault of her own. She is 110 lbs, so she’s a big girl! We think this poor girl may have lived outside all of her life, due to her elbows and bites on her face from horse flies- Queen Idea is what you can call a big teddy bear. She adores everyone (really loves kids!)and loves to nuzzle and give kisses and has the cutest underbite! Queen Idea is quite a darling in the house and she loves to be with her people. She is housebroken and loves lounging on her big fluffy dog bed. Meet Hank! He’s a sweet 1-2 year old Shih Tzu. You could not find a more loving, loyal and devoted dog than this boy. He is so kind, and gentle. He loves everything and everyone. He is fostered with 2 dogs and a cat and is so extremely respectful of all of them. He has no issues sharing his bed, or treats. In fact, Hank reminds me so much of a cat. He has such a good energy and will slither right up onto your chest just to sleep next to you. He will lay by your feet as you watch tv, or sit at the end of the bed while your sleeping. Hank does his little spirts of energy where he will grab his toys & run around wanting to play.

Hank is an adorable little guy, weighing about 16 lbs with long beautiful hair. He has the cuttest little face with the most soft brown puppy eyes. Hank loves going on outings and walks well on the leash and will sit and stay for a treat. He’s a very intelligent boy and so eager to please his masters. I think Hank would do well in a home where he was not left home alone all day as he craves human affection. Hank just ADORES children too. All around this boy has been through a lot, and we would love for him to find a loving, forever home. He is going to make someone very, very happy.

Murphy

Meet Murphy the Gent! He’s my respectful, middleaged, and quiet foster dog. He rarely barks, but when he does it’s with a Big Dog Voice. (not that there’s anything wrong with little dog voices. Ahem.) Murphy’s pretty awesome. If you’ve got a lap and some kind words, he’ll be your pal for life. He’s probably around 7.

Murphy is getting tired of all the foster homes and is looking to commit. He’s long-legged and nimble. Sometimes he skitters sideways. His DNA tests are inconclusive, but possibly mountain goat and crab mix? Or else Boston Terrier and chihuahua, it’s hard to say.

Murphy loves other dogs and kids, and has a healthy respect for kitties (as it should be). He’s not afraid to tear a plushie up, he loves to play. He’s waggy, mellow and a great companion. He’ll give you kisses or not, depending on how you feel about all that. Likes treats, broccoli, paper towels, and walks. He also has the markings of a Holstein, and, as we know, cows are awesome, so that all makes Murphy even more perfect. He will also always be classic and able to match all your outfits. As if that’s not all enough, he may be the best spooner in the west.

Frankie

This is Frankie. A local chi-weenie lookin’ boy that came to us from SF ACC. Perhaps he’s got some terrier in him too. He’s about 8 months old, still acts very much like a puppy (think go-go-go energy/curious about everything) although he does great pottying outside (he is crated while I’m away to help this) and I would consider him housebroken. He does great in his crate and sleeps through the night without any noise.

I nicknamed him “monkey” since he’s still getting adjusted to being a dog and climbs on furniture like a cat but not as graceful. He’s more of a silly monkey but very quickly learning how to mellow out and to enjoy some relaxation.

He is a bit of a nervous nelly right now (I’ve only had him a few days) but I think with time and some foster work, Skeeter will get adjusted to city life, a daily routine and realize “this is fun!” He’s calmed down and is sharing my chair as I type this.

Frankie is affectionate but can be mouthy when he gets excited during play or wants to leave when he gets tired (will “bite” your pant leg to tell you, “hey, I wanna get outta here.”) He definitely needs rules and boundaries to help him blossom into a wonderful adult. Frankie is attentive to corrections which leads me to believe someone just didn’t take the time to train him.

I believe time (patience), love, and a dose of consistent household rules will get this boy to be a wonderful companion. He’s already beautiful with a white heart marking on his forehead and his Ratatouille cartoon-like looks and charm.

I think he would do great being a second dog so he can learn quickly. Also, due to his mouthiness and “rebellious teenage” behavior, I recommend he be placed in an all adult home or one with older (12+) respectful kids until he perfects his manners.

Frankie is friendly with new people but is much more likely to make friends with women (strangers) than men. Treats definitely help especially if his forever home will include some boys but they will need to be patient and take it slow with him. He gets along with dogs and is well behaved.

Yep… They call me Wilbur. I think that’s a pigs name, ( I think they think that’s funny..) I don’t care, I’m awesome, no matter what they call me. I’m an incredibly cool looking guy- not to mention modest- cause I’m kinda short but muscular and I have big ears ( I think I got those from my momma) and a bright beautiful smile I use to charm the ladies with. I’m around 1 -2 years old, I am polite and smart & also have a TON of personality… The people at the shelter said I was a Pitbull/corgi. But that sounds weird. I just don’t know. But I can tell you this.. I’m a loyal good guy and not only will I be a really amazing friend bur I’ll also make you look 78.5% better just by walking down the street with you, I’m that good looking. I’m also smart cause I was able to break down the math for those percentages. I hope we can meet someday soon

Puppies!

Hudson -(black) He’s a sweet 4 month old boy who loves everyone and is eager to please. Hudson’s mother came to us from a high kill shelter days after she gave birth. She’s full grown at 30lbs so we think Hudson will be a tiny boy. He’s a pitbull mix. He does have some demodex but it’s almost healed up now and hes doing so much better!

Buick- (red) He’s a handsome 4 month old pittie pup and he’s the biggest one in the litter! He’s stunning with a red brindle coat and beautiful green eyes- Buick’s a tough little cookie and always up to play. He’s super sweet, loving and goofy. He loves playing with other dogs, and has already learned how to sit, say and down.

Santogold

Meet Santogold, a French Bulldog mix who is about 8 years old and weighs about 17 lbs. She’s a unique looking dog who is compact enough to be a traveling buddy. She came to Rocket Dog because her previous owner passed away and their neighbor took her in to protect her from going to the shelter but cannot keep her.

This girl is calm on car rides, likes to go on daily, brisk, short (30 min) walks and would LOVE nothing but to snuggle and sleep in bed with you. She is aware some people have rules and will gladly go sleep on her dog pillow if requested to.

Santogold is a “begger” at least in the sense that she’ll wait and watch you while you eat an entire dinner. She won’t make a peep but she sure is cute and hard to resist. She barks to alert you there is someone at the door but otherwise is relatively quiet around the house. She likes to entertain us by running around in circles while chasing her tail! Overall she’s a friendly and sweet dog, isn’t nervous around strangers and is dog friendly. Not quite sure about cats.

Meet Apallo! He’s a super good lookin’ Labrador/Rottie mix fella. This sweet guy came to us from a high kill shelter where he was an absolute favorite & they could not see him killed. He was super cute when hanging out in the shelter yard and jumped into a pool full of water and rolled up in it. He loves the water! Apallo is a sweet boy, very loyal and loving. Apallo is good with other dogs, but can be a bit barky with new dogs until he’s properly introduced.

He’d do great with a basic obedience class. He’s crate trained, & walks well on leash. He looks like a black lab face with a rottie body and cropped tail. He’s quite a handsome looking boy. Has traits of both breeds. Fun, goofy and very loyal- Apallo is truly an amazing dog and is going to make someone very, very happy!

Meet Mr. Rudolph, everyone’s sweetheart. Rudolph is a 9-month old Sheltie/Shepherd mix and he weighs around 30 lbs. Rudolph is a very happy guy with absolutely no complaints. He is house trained and crate trained as well. He is a very smart dog and a super fast learner. He knows his commands (no, sit, stay, jump, up, turn). He is now trained to walk on leash like a gentleman. He’s working on his doggie “hello” handshakes now!

He would be a great candidate for professional training. He absolutely loves to go out for long walks or a nice 2-mile run. He loves the outdoors as much as the indoors. He is a great companion to take with you for your morning coffee and evening dinner stroll. He will just snuggle up next to you. He loves to ride in the car. So if you are a person that loves to explore your neighborhood – be it shops, parks or trails, Rudolph is your man! He is still a puppy at heart. He is playful when he meets other dogs and is extremely friendly with everyone. He’s just a happy boy. He wouldn’t like a home with cats. Though, he would be a great companion dog for another dog if you have one. He is very gentle with other dogs. He would do great by himself too. He is adorable, loving and a caring boy who is awaiting his forever home.

This is Duke! This handsome fella is coming to Rocket Dog tomorrow and we are so excited to have him!! Duke was confiscated from his owners when the shelter was called because his owners left him tied up in a yard with no shelter from the 100 degree heat, and duke was drooling and panting constantly.

He’s a purebred Bloodhound who’s around 3-4 years old. He’s a big, goofy, handsome loving boy who loves everyone he meets! Duke is ready for his forever home where he will get to be inside with his people & be part of a family! Duke is a great boy and is going to make someone very happy.. Experience with hounds or strong breed dogs is a plus.

Meet Honey Bunny & Mack Daddy! First let’s get the basic, important details out of the way – these adorable 10 week old pitbull puppies are both fixed, up to date on shots and micochipped.

Honey Bunny and Mack Daddy are looking for the loving home they deserve after going through quite an ordeal so early in life. They were rescued from the Sacramento shelter where they were dumped by their original owners who cut off their ears with box cutters and then taped them to cardboard with duct tape. After having all the infected tissue removed and undergoing a few weeks of antibiotics, they find themselves eager to please and as sweet as pie. If you can open your heart and your home to the pair of them, the rewards will be equally as great for you as for them! We don’t always need to adopt out siblings together, but we feel that sending these two babies to separate home would be to leave something very special behind: the loving bond the pair have for one another that deserves to be nurtured and preserved.

Honey Bunny and Mack Daddy have been living with an adult female and male pair of dogs and are doing very well in that environment. They will need experienced guardians who know the breed and will continue to work with them on socializing and providing them with the training they deserve to be ambassador dogs as they get older, but in the mean time they are very eager to meet, kiss, and play with other dogs. Honey and Mack spend their days together playing gently with the same toy, wrapping their arms around each other for naps and exploring their foster mom and dad’s yard together. They are very well matched in energy and can be described as playful, but very willing to calm down with leadership and especially love their puppy naps after good exercise. They do not problem-feed off one another, and are generally not phased by the things that the other alerts to. They take turns initiating play and waiting for each other when they explore and are each very attentive to humans. They love going on beach romps with their foster parents and they have mastered sitting at each crosswalk already. Their foster parents believe in teaching them not to go in the road without permission, especially if they will be going to a forever home in the city. They have made great strides in their potty training, and they know how to “sit” and “stay”. We are sill working on “down, but they seem to understand “off”. Honey Bunny is the master buttwiggler of the pair, and she is truly a bundle of cute, infectious energy wherever she goes. Her favorite thing to do is wiggle her little self up to a friendly dog and kiss them in the face! Mack daddy is the Houdini of the pair – that is, he is a skilled climber and isn’t afraid to use his skills when necessary (like when he really needs to get over the puppy gate in order to get some cuddles)! He is a bit more shy than his sister, and he prefers to evaluate you with his large, soulful eyes before he gently doles out his kisses.
These two have cute, love and happiness to share with you in spades and they are looking for the right future guardian/family to nurture them and provide the pair of them a loving home while seeing to their individual needs as they each mature. Their foster parents believe in a happy ending for Honey Bunny and Mack Daddy as a pair and will answer any questions you have about them, and work with you through the meet and greet.

Thor

Thor is a beautiful Shepard mix (maybe with Rottweiler?). The shelter has estimated him to be about 10 mos old, he’s on the small side still.. He is very playful and active and loves a lot of attention. He would be a great running partner for those early morning or late night jogs. He shows no signs of aggression and does not bark at other dogs, and adores everyone he meets.. Thor is one lucky boy to come out of this rural shelter.

Panda

Meet Panda .. This Poor boy….it seems that a member of his old family became allergic to dog dander….so they surrendered this sweet Australian shepherd mix to the shelter. Panda is about 3 yrs old, full grown and gets along very well with all size dogs. He is very loving and social and misses hanging out with a family! This boy is a shelter favorite and is looking for a forever home..

Scooter

Meet Scooter! This good lookin’ fella came to us from the Sacramento Shelter. He ended up there when his owner became homless and could no longer care for the both of them. Scooter was his best bud… He is a loving, soulful boy who is eager to please his people. He is extremely intelligent.

Scooter is a 2 year old Jack Russell. Scooter gets along well with other dogs, but does not like sharing his toys or food with other dogs (we don’t blame him.) He’s a silly boy and will entertain you with his funny tactics! All this boy really wants is a loving, active home where he can be your best friend..

Boston

Meet Boston! He is the best boy!! He just arrived at rocket dog and he has been nothing but a complete and total angel. There are not words made to describe how awesome this boy is… He is around 8 months old, and we think he’s a hound/lab mix. He is very small at about 35- 40lbs. He loves other dogs, and will greet every person he meets with his whole body wiggling and giving kisses. He’s still a pup so needs to learn all his basic obedience but that will be easy, as he’s SO smart and treat motivated. Boston is a great dog who is going to make a great addition to any family!

Sassa Fras

Meet this darling gal Sassa- Fras AKA Sassy…She’s a purebred American Bulldog- This poor thing has been bred too many times, and her puppies were probably taken away from her early on and sold, and then she was dumped at a high kill shelter in Merced. She’s now about 2 years old and is a total love bug!

She enjoys being around her people and getting lots of love. She has the CUTEST smooshy face ever! Sassy is a great gal in the house, and is crate trained and is fine in the company of other dogs. Sassy walks well on leash, and is still learning some tricks. She’s a cute litte munchkin waiting for her forever home!

Bo

Meet Bo! He’s the most handsome, loyal, friendly boy you’ll ever meet! Bo has a sad story.. this poor boy was found running down the road in Stockton with his brother after they were dumped there. Sadly, in rural area’s people bring there dogs to the farms, etc and just leave them there to fend for themselves. Luckily, an amazing samaritan took in Bo & has been fostering him ever since.

Bo is a fast learner and knows sit, down and stay. He is so loyal to his humans. There is nothing this boy wants more than to curling up next to you for an ear scratch or belly rub. Everyone who meets Bo falls in love with him instantly and we know why.. Hes super laid back & just wants to be with his people. Bo is fine with other dogs but would probably love to be the king of his home.

Derby Girl

Meet Derby Girl! She is one of the Oakland 5 puppies who was saved from a backyard breeder selling her and her siblings outside a wallmart in Oakland, where they had been living in a backyard. Derby is the most amazing, well behaved 5 month old puppy out there! She’s extremely intelligent and has learned sit, down, stay, come, shake and walks well on a leash. She is house trained, crate trained and plays well with other dogs. We think she is a collie/pitty mix.

Derby is a joy to have around and everyone who meets her absolutely adores her! She is a sleek little gal, and very petite. She enjoys playing in the park with her other doggie friend on just snoozing on the couch. She is so mature for a pup. This precious gal is looking for her forever home..

Jobie

Jobie is an 18 month, 51 lb. Labrador/Queensland Heeler mix. He is a very playful, excited & loving boy. Jobie has some weight to gain & should be at the 60-lb. range. He loves attention & would prefer not to share it, but plays very well with others. He is even afraid of cats. Jobie loves to go for walks & knows how to walk on a leash. However he gets so excited that he tends to pull sometimes. He does not like to be cooped up and will jump out of a 6-ft. kennel. He likes to play with toys & cuddle in your lap, smothering your face with kisses. Jobie needs someone with space for him to play & with lots of time to take him for walks, feed him treats & give him big bear hugs (his favorite). He does not soil in his kennel, so he has had some house-training skills.

Meet Darla. She has got to be the world’s cuttest pug EVER! This little precious gal came to us from a high kill shelter, where her owners of 7 years sadly surrendered her because they had to move. She’s a purebred Pug- Since Darla has been with us, she’s been nothing but a joy to have around. She will non stop kiss you with her adorable little smushy face & wiggles her whole body in joy when she meets you. She is fine with other dogs, and is crate trained and just perfect!!

Levi

Meet Levi! He’s a handsome 1 1/2 year old Schnoodle (Minature poodle & Schnauzer). Levi came to us from the Holister Shelter where sadly most dogs do not make it out alive due to overcrowding. Levi is a sweet boy and has been quite a gentlemen since he arrived. Levi loves his people, and will lavish you in sweet doggie kisses. Levi walks well on leash and is working on learning all his commands. He’s already learned sit & stay. He’s super treat motivated as well .. He is crate trained and is a very good boy when in his crate. This poor boy came to the shelter very matted so he was shaved, but his hair will grow back in no time!

Meet Elroy! He’s one cool looking, handsome, goofy miniature poodle mix. Elroy came to us matted and sad from a high kill shelter where he was found roaming the streets. He’s now then happiest boy ever! He enjoys spending time with his people, hes real easy going & mellow but is always up for an adventure and has plenty of spunk left. We think Elroy is about 4-5 year old. He is a small guy at only about 12lbs. This sweet guy would be happiest as an only dog and the king of his castle. Elroy is an awesome boy whos going to make someone very happy!…

Hubble

Meet Humble!! Hes the most HANDSOME boy around!! He’s a real head turner ! Humble is a 2 year old Malamute. He was saved from a rural shelter where he ran out of time -He won over the hearts of many shelter volunteers. Humble has been quite the gentlemen since coming to us. He’s still very much like a puppy, and needs work on not jumping to give you kisses, and learning all his commands, but he’s eager to please & easily trained .. He’s extremely intelligent. He has lots of energy so an active home is best. He should be the only dog in the home, as he’s more of a dominant male with other doggies. Experience with northern breeds is a plus!
