If you like sweet-feisty terrier-ness in a small package, 1 year old Fast Freddy is the little dog for you! Marked like a Jack Russell, but with the sweetness of a rattie, he’s soft-coated, active, and lots of fun!

Freddy’s not a good pick for households with cats, but loves other little dogs about his 10-pound size and a bit larger. He’s neutered, has his shots, does his biz reliably outdoors. He would likely do well with active middle school children who know a bit about doggie boundaries, and he loves both women and men. Like many small terriers, he doesn’t like to be startled by an elevator-ride pick-up from human hands without warning, but loves laps and scritches, and sleeps in his own bed on the floor or in a crate.

Momo is a 2-3 year old Jack Russell Terrier, handsome and opinionated. He is not bark-y, but does not do well with cats. At about 18 pounds, he plays well with other dogs his size and larger. His behaviors are typical of Jack Russell Terriers, mouthy and a bit sassy, and he will love that you are the dominant leader in his pack! He walks well on a lead, is reliably housetrained for outdoors, sits, shakes hands, takes treats gently. Momo would do great in a home where his lovely JRT self is understood, and he can depend on someone – an active physical person – to occasionally throw a ball!

Katie and two little pals were all from the same home. Their owner had to leave them because of foreclosure. Rocket Dog Rescue rescued and placed her 2 pals into a caring foster home last Sunday, but there was no more room in the transporter’s car for Katie. This is a picture of Katie after her pals, two little sassy shih tsu gals, were rescued and she was left behind at the shelter.

This week, Rocket Dog Rescue stepped up to save Katie, too, with the help of a volunteer who could transport her before the final hours she would have had on this earth on September 1st.  Katie is on her way to San Francisco, and needs a loving foster home where she can regain her natural joyful personality on the way to a new – and permanent – forever-home.

Katie is a young female, already spayed with shots current. She is likely a smooth collie mixed with a smaller dog, maybe several generations back! She weighs about 35 pounds, so she is a lot of dog packed into a small dog body, just right for romps at the beach, walks in the park, and relaxing in front of the telly with her adoring human companions.

This little girl will open her great big heart and offer all the love she has, and soon her tail will be thumping the floor every time she hears the steps of a beloved human companion.

What a fabulous little tan Chihuahua gentleman! Harley Jr is 2-3 years old, a very loving and a smart little fella. At about 10 pounds, he is 100% at ease with people over the age of 9, cats, and other dogs of all ages and sizes.  He plays with puppies, old dogs, lady dogs, guy dogs, big dogs, little dogs, women, men, and teens.  He likes to nap, loves to sit and watch you keyboard, and is ever so polite about asking for just a tiny taste of whatever you are having for dinner.

He is good on a lead, and has adapted easily to both yard duty and sidewalk/park duty walks. He is not barky but is a good little watchdog, and loves to ride in a car. He will be the boon companion for some lucky human.  He was loved from an early age, and is in rescue simply because his owner out in the wilds of the California valleys did not want to pay the (very reasonable) shelter fee to take him home again.

Harley Jr is neutered, and has had his shots. Although his foster care providers have appreciated his company very much, Harley Jr is ready for a new life with permanent human companion(s) who will care what happens to him as much as he esteems them.

Rudy likes to play with other dogs, but seems a little intimidated by smaller dogs at first.  He has not been tested with cats, so we do not know if he would be too interested in them.  He is learning some basic obedience and is currently fostered with other dogs.  He loves going for walks around the neighborhood and to the park.  Rudy would benefit from comtinued obedience training with his new person, as he is still a puppy in a big dog suit.  He does not have a mean bone in him but his over-exuberance can be off-putting to those who do not know him.

Jessy is one of the many dogs that Rocket Dog Rescue has saved in the past two weeks.  He came to us from an overcrowded shelters in the Central Valley, where so many families are losing their homes and must relinquish their pets.  Jessy is about 6 lbs., gentle, loves being held and gives tiny kisses.  He is about 2-3 yrs old.  He does not mind his crate but he much rather be socializing with his people or other dogs.  We do not know if he likes cats.

Swatches is about 12 lbs., with a beautiful golden silky coat and fluffy tail.  He is between 2-3 years old.  Maybe he is part Pomeranian or spaniel.  We do not really know.  He seems to LOVE people, but it does take him some time to warm up to other dogs.  Of course, there may be dogs that he may never get along with…he may always be “selective” in his canine friendships.

Swatches would love to hang out while you putter in the garden, or sit by your feet as you read the paper, or accompany you on errands around town.  I think he would also like to go for walks on the beach or on trails, as long as he is with his favorite people…..

Kibble is about one and a half years old, twelve pounds, and sweet as pie!  He does like other dogs (not sure about cats!).  He will go into his crate easily, but he definitely prefers to be by your side.  He looks like a cross between a dachshund and a whippet.

Monk and many of his friends came to Rocket Dog Rescue because they were due to be put to sleep THAT afternoon.  With two hours’ notice, a shleter volunteer tried desperately to secure safety for these dogs and Rocket Dog Rescue stepped up to save these wonderful little dogs!

Monk is a three year old chihuahua mix, about 8 lbs. The shelter told us he was found in a ditch.  He has not let that mishap spoil his outlook on life.  He is good with people and other dogs but we are unsure of his behavior around cats.  Monk also loves to eat.  He would gladly clean the crumbs on your floor without complaint.   Please give Monk the happy comforatble home he deserves!

This is Nessie; a black beauty that absolutely adores people, loves to play, and has been “babysitting” Tami (a young cattle dog mix) since they both arrived from the shelter. We cannot understand why someone would leave this precious gem behind because Nessie shines in so many ways! Nessie walks well on a leash, sits, lays, waits, and is a gentle “cookie grabber”! Barron is just the most adorable 3 month old male terrier mix puppy.  He currently weighs 5 pounds and probably be around 12-15 pounds when full grown. He likes to be held and enjoys being around people and other dogs.  Unsure about cats right now!  Barron will need to attend a puppy kindergarten and enroll in obedience training so he can learn how to be the best dog possible!  He seems to be treat-motivated which makes it easy for training.

Tanner is a 4-5 month old hound-ridgeback mix puppy who came to RDR with his brother Cooper.  He is energetic and playful and happy to be alive! Tanner is about 23 lbs and has the sofest coat, like moleskin.  He is the perfect dog for an active family.  He likes other dogs (but because of his puppy exuberance, may be too much for the tiny dogs..)

He has had his first shots and microchip and is ready for puppy kindergarten.

Meet Posh! She is a darling 7 month old pitbull/labrador mix. She is such a fantastic little doll, and is so full of love. Posh was saved from a
sad life when she was a puppy where she was left outside in a yard with no food or water. Since she was rescued she blossomed into such an amazing,
friendly, and mature girl. Posh is great with everyone she meets, she loves other dogs, she is so smart and knows all her commands and is very eager
to please. Posh does very well in the house, and is always up for playtime. She loves her treats and chew toys too! This little rascal has been waiting for her
forever home, she now has her bags packed and she is ready to go to her new family!

The fabulous Bentley is  a one-year old terrier mix (looks like a brussels griffon!) with a great personality - the perfect balance of playful and calm - he’s all about love and devotion!

Bentley loves to crawl into laps and cuddle after zooming around the yard for a bit.  He is around 12 pounds and gets along well with kids and other dogs. He likes to try and engage cats in play, but so far the cats haven’t reciprocated. He’s also the house mayor, very interested in looking out of windows to see what’s going on in the world.

He’s been neutered, is up to date on his shots and micro-chipped.  Now all he needs is you!

Welcome to Tami’s world where everything is new and just has to be explored! This cute as a button small Border Collie/Cattle dog mix is sweet, smart, and sassy. Tami is always looking at her handler just waiting for the next command, or invitation to do something fun. Tami plays with, and is kenneled with, an older Lab mix that is about 2 – 3 years old and they get along famously! Tami also gets along with other dogs, but is still a bit shy…never aggressive. She knows sit, lay, and walks fairly well on a leash. We believe she is younger than the shelter thought, about 8 -9 months old. Tami is 33 lbs,  spayed, micro-chipped, had her dew-claws removed in the back, and is current on all vaccinations. We think she would be great with kids older than 6 years of age. Cats are not a problem, unless of course the run, then they become a moving target! Tami is perfect with the cats at the ranch, but they are more, or less not runners. Mama Bebe and her pups are looking for homes. The pups were born on July 20. There are two females and five males–two are all white, one is all white with a circle around his eye, two are white with spots and two look look like panda bears, black with white. All pups are healthy and doing well and Bebe is being a great mom. Bebe is around a year old and is a very sweet dog. She’s good around kids and other dogs, not a big barker and could use some leash work. Very nice girl who loves hanging out with humans and gets very excited to go for a walk or a ride in the car.

Meet Monika! This little “deer” simply lights-up the room with her cuteness. She is about a year old, weighs only 7.5 pounds, spayed, microchipped, and current on all her vaccinations. This gal has an affection for everyone and will jump right in the lap of anyone willing to catch her and give her some lovin’. Monika walks well on a leash or a harness. She is living with two older, yet still lively dogs which means she knows how to get along with others. The two gentlemen she lives with are her size, however, and the bigger ones seem to get Monika scared. I imagine a bigger dog just might take some getting used to.

Monika is still trying to figure-out the whole potty situation, but has been taking to using the “pee-pads” with a little encouragement. She just loves to be in someone’s arms, travels well, and is eager to find that forever home! He was brought to the shelter as a stray, so no real history is known about his beginnings.  But he probably had a home as he is very social with people and dogs and seems to be housetrained.  He has had his vaccines, but will still need to be neutered.  And may I add, he loves to cuddle….

Meet Danny Boy- He’s a beautiful 8 month old flat coated retriever seeking a home! He was saved today from a high kill shelter in antioch today and he is so grateful. Ginger: 8 years old and some change, sweet little female (50 lbs-ish) Boxer and something – American Bull Dog or Rottweiler dog. Meet Amos! He’s a American Bulldog we believe. He was saved from a very high kill shelter on his last day, he is estimated to be about 9 months old, he’s still a puppy! He is a REAL sweet guy. Big cuddler – When I lie down on the floor often he will sleep with me as well, and loves to cuddle. He is really cute and loves belly rubs. He loves everyone. He does very well with dogs and wants to play. He is very playful. He plays with toys by himself and does very puppy like things.

Everybody loves him when I take him out for walks and he gets tons of attention. He’d do well in a very active household. He is a big dog. He needs to go out at least twice a day – he needs a good amount of exercise (as any pup does) otherwise he gets a little bored inside the house and becomes a little restless even with his toys. Amos would love a doggie friend to keep company!

He weighs 70lbs now and he is growing a little bit too So he is a big dog. He learns quickly is eager to please. Amos would benefit from continued training since he’s still a puppy.  This is one big guy you have to meet to appreciate.

Regina and Rosetta come as a pair filled with rest and relaxation for you.
Rosetta is the older, wiser one who is 11 years old and Regina is around 6.  Don’t let their ages fool ya because they get around just fine, have plenty of spunk and many years of miniature kisses for you. These two doxie ladies weigh less than 20 pounds combined.

They like to relax but they are a bit bossy when it comes to new big dogs, at least initially.  They are small, but they’ll let you know they are there with a few barks and eventually simmer down once they’ve been recognized or told to “shush.”  They enjoy dogs of their size if you’re looking to expand your pack.

These two are lovely lap ladies and enjoy running around in the grass, taking a nap in your lap, or just entertaining each other.  They are very much bonded and attached to each other so it’s ideal to keep them together.  Who can’t have two hot dogs?  They are smaller than one medium sized dog

Perks of having seasoned dogs – no potty training!  They know you’re busy and have a schedule.  They can both wait up to 7-8 hours while you’re away.  They are also spayed, up to date on shots, and potentially microchipped (lets check their file) and ready for their second chance in life.

Meet April, a gorgeous 5 month old shepherd mix who is very mature and proper for her young puppy age.  Shepherd mixed with what?  Not quite sure but your guess is as good as ours and with those beautiful markings, who cares. Right?

She currently weighs 20 pounds although she will grow until she fills out within the next year or so.  This is a fabulous, tail waggin’, happy girl who is very friendly, great with other dogs and is ready for a home to call her own.  Her foster mom has been working with her on potty training and so far, she reports that April gets an A+ with no accidents!!!

With that shepherd brain, she’s quick and eager to learn.  Treat motivated and an owner who wants to put this girl to work will accomplish a very talented dog.  She’s got the brains and beauty and will become an amazing and loyal companion.

April is crate trained (and loves it!)  She is spayed, up to date and shots and potentially microchipped (we’ll double check.)

Nicki is a cute, 4 month-old Black Pointer, Lab mix puppy. She is a happy,
loving, and playful girl who is curious about everything but not destructive.
She loves her toys and never tires of playing with you and giving kisses. She
also loves her foster family’s small backyard and can run around and entertain
herself there for hours without barking. She also does very well in her crate.
She can sit very nicely calmly and is adorable with her floppy forward facing
ears.  She has mastered the Sit and Stay spoken commands and is making great
progress on hand signals. She has already learned to wait to eat her food until
given the “OK” command.  She is in the process of being house trained and
doesn’t pee in the house if watched and taken outside frequently.  She passed
her first vet check up with flying colors and has had two of her shots.  She’s

Louie comes to San Francisco from the Wasco, California shelter. He is so grateful for the cool ocean breeze! Meet Yada! She is a a precious 2 year old white, DEAF female bully girl with the most stunning blue eyes. Yada has had a rough life, and ended up at the shelter many times with no place to go. This time no one is coming back for her… and her time is almost up. She is soooo loving and her whole body wiggles in joy when you go into her kennel.  She gives non stop kisses and is dying for attention. She is SUCH a lover. She is good with other dogs as well, and loves to play! Yada is a great dog and even though she is deaf it does not get in her way, she will make someone very, very happy. She is very responsive to hand signals too. Come on down and meet this precious gal!

Waldo, or Waldy as we like to call him, is such handsome fellow. He is almost 4 years old, and he is currently a little underweight. He has overcome great odds in the first 3 years of his life. When he was found on the streets at 3 months old, he was malnourished to the point that his legs were crooked and he could not walk. Poor Waldo has been in the care of various homes since then – but he has been returned to our rescue organization in rough shape – he is underweight and recovering from some skin abrasions.

Our names are Christine and Matt and we are fostering Waldy for the time being until we can find him a true forever home. We have a female pitbull type dog, whom Waldo is quite smitten with. This is evidence that he can get along great with other dogs (they even cuddle together on the same dog bed), but overall he is a bit socially awkward around other dogs without a proper introduction. We think that Waldo should be the only pet in the home so that he can finally get the attention and consistency he deserves after being bounced around so much in his early years.

Waldo knows how to sit, lie down and stay on command. He also comes when he’s called and he is easily refocused away from some trouble he may want to get into along the way – like dashing through a flock of pigeons on the sidewalk. If there’s one thing Waldo wants to do, it’s please his people, so he knows that no means no. His home manners are impeccable – we have not seen him chew anything, and he is amazingly house trained for having so many different “homes” in the past. Waldo hasn’t had any indoor accidents in the past month or so that we have had him – which as a frequent foster parent of rescue dogs I can tell you is a real blessing. Our carpets are so releived. Our Waldy is quite the perfect roommate. When you walk by doggie bed, he rolls over to expose his belly to you – his antics are the cutest. Waldy will also wait paitiently for his food until given the green light and he sits at all the cross walks before being told he may cross with you- which is not only eye-catching and endearing to everyone around, but it’s a great safety measure to practice if you live in the city. He’s also very accustomed to sitting and waiting for people to go through doorways first, if that’s what you request of him.

We don’t think he’s ever been in the water before, because he was extremely confused at first as to why on earth our other dog would want to fetch a stick out of the ocean when we first took him to the beach – but he is getting used to the waves and watching him triumph over them is truly a rewarding experience. He’s just such a “dog”. He loves fetch, he loves bones, he loves peanut butter, and he loves his dog bed. Most of all – he loves having a home, and he really deserves one of his very own with you.

Tug is just a bit of a clown and a gentleman at the same time! He sure knows how to make people smile, has some lovable energy, and could fetch the ball all day long. Tug will even clean the ball for you by dropping it in a water bucket and then giving it back! This medium mixed dog (most likely Lab and Rhodesian Ridgeback) is housebroken, gets along with other dogs, and most recently was in a home with children. Tug knows all the basic commands like sit, lay down, and wait. He is eager to please, needs a bit of help with leash pulling (hence his name), but has come a long way since being given his namesake and simply needs a reminder about the leash. Tug is neutered, microchipped, and is current on all vaccinations. A family with a yard to run in and kids to play with would be ideal!

Meet Tippy! He’a a sweet 7-8 year old purebred Pomeranian who was left behind at the shelter; luckily Rocket Dog Rescue came to his rescue when his time was up. He is super cute and very sweet, and a small guy at only about 6lbs. He loves being held, and he is very affectionate. He likes other dogs, and would be best with dogs his size. He is a very leasy boy, who loves to sleep, and lay in bed with his people, and take a nice stroll to the park.  He is crate trained. He should probably go to a home without young kids due to his size. Tippy is sweet as sugar and he’s waiting for his forever home!…

This is Tinkerbelle, a lovely mix with a great disposition. Tinkerbelle would love to be one special girl to someone. She is about 2 years old, spayed, has her shots and is ready to go. She loves going out on walks, is good on a leash and really enjoys just hanging out and taking in the quiet. This girl is mellow and well suited to a home that isn’t full of a lot of hustle and bustle. She’s a thinker and an enjoyer of the simpler things in life- like ear rubs, tasty treats, bones to chew on, and lots of praises.

She needs a little guidance, so someone in the family should have some experience with dogs. She does fit her name, though, and even sits-up for her supper. Tinkerbelle doesn’t mind other dogs in a ‘ships passing through the night’ kind of way, but she doesn’t like interacting with them, so she should go to a home where she’ll be your only canine princess. Tinkerbelle loves people and we really think she’s a queen in the making— she just needs lots of love and a bit more training.

Thatcher is 3 ½ year old Boxer-American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He is a large, sweet dog that needs a chance in life. He is the best friend you could ever have, he is loyal, loving and really an easy going guy. I love this dog.

Thatcher loves walks, playing with the ball, and being with you as much as possible – he’s a snuggler, kisser, and hugger! Thatcher has so much to give and he can’t wait to love, and to find his forever home.

Thatcher has had a tough life and needs someone that will love and protect him and be able to work with him. Because of his tough beginning he has some fear issues and can be a bit of a nutter at times. The best home for him will be with an experienced dog owner that can handle a large dog and can provide him a safe space where he can be his best. And his best is awesome!

Thatcher is loving puppy stuck inside the body of a big boy. He has a serious bark but it is only to warn you, someone is out there, or to let you know he’s very excited to go for a walk. J Again, just being his nuttso adorable self.

This guy is great on leash, really a pleasure to walk. He will not pull. He also knows basic commands, sit, stay, down, come. He is generally well behaved and likes to lay around and chew on his bones when inside. The closer he can be to you, the better. You’ll find him sleeping by your feet often. He is also great with other dogs – very gentle and playful with his housemates.

Sweetie is a unique looking shepherd mix of sorts. Our guesstimate is that she’s 2-4 years old. Sweetie gets her name exactly from her personality. She is super docile, very friendly and affectionate. On top of all of that she has the spectacular brains of a shepherd so she learned sit in less than 5 minutes on her first day out of the shelter. She doesn’t know much but she’s treat motivated and a great student.

She came to us from Madera and it looks like she may have been an outside dog since she’s not quite used to city life such as automatic doors at the pet store, leaves blowing and other random things like umbrellas. She is super resilient and literally is constantly adapting. She easily bonds and trusts people. The thing I love about her is she possess a very calm energy that can actually mellow YOU out.

With some time and patience, Sweetie will become the best canine companion a person could have. She is great with dogs, cats (so we’ve been told but haven’t tested) and children. She is crate trained, potty trained (learned in less than a week!) and would do best as a second dog since she doesn’t really know how to be on her own.

Sweetie is spayed, up to date on her shots and is ready for her second chance at life.

Stitch is a 12- or 14-week-old Chihuahua-Terrier mix puppy. He is a very cute little boy who loves attention and loves everyone. Stitch will kiss you until you make him stop. Stitch has plenty of puppy energy and likes to be close to people. He is good with other dogs and with cats. He’s young with no bad habits.

Meet Spike, isn’t he one of the hottest dogs you’ve seen? Any single ladies out there? Spike is ready for some fun! This pitty mix baby has a stunning red and white coat, striking eyes and the cutest face ever, not every pooch can get this lucky. Heads will be turning. Spike is 3 years young, cute, sweetheart material, great with people and children, he’s such a lovebug and did I mention he’s one hot dog?

He’s still learning how to walk on leash and still getting to know dogs better, but he’s getting better everyday. Spike is everything you can ask for, he is so devoted, well behaved indoors, and always greets you with happy wagging tail. He seems to love getting baths and some good ol’ body massages. What a phenomenal dog, If I weren’t single I’d take him in a heartbeat. Please come meet Spike, we know you will fall in love with him!

Snarls Barkley is a 2 year old, male, Bichomese as I call him. We think he is a Bichon Frise/Maltese mix with a sprinkle of poodle. He’s a happy little guy who still has that fun, puppy type energy and loves to play!

Snarls is somewhat of a Jekyll/Hyde dog. He’s great with dogs of all sizes and has great manners (the best ever!!!), fine with cats (knows “leave it”) but not so much with people. He gets used to his owners and daily routine quickly but he is a biter and will bite people he doesn’t know if they reach for him. It’s a lot of work and you have to be very cautious most of the time.

Even with his owners, he will strike if you catch him in the wrong spot – for example, trying to pick a flea or something off of him – it’s as simple as that or trying to untangle his fur. The weird thing is that it’s not each time you try to pull something off him or clean his face so he’s a little unpredictable with that. I will say in his defense is that most of the time, he will give you “the look” before he bites. I realize this sounds impossible for such a cute fluffy dog but I want to be honest with you as it is a daily challenge. Everyone wants to pet him and you really have to warn people. He will meet people very sweetly but on HIS terms. He will give you a nudge with his nose and then you have to make sure someone is gentle and goes slow.

Snarls is crate trained, learns commands quickly and is eager to please. He know sit, go potty, off, leave it and drop it (for playing ball.) He is great at the park and even at home he LOVES to fetch, run around and play hide and go seek where he can zoom down hallways. He’s very entertaining.

He’s got a great personality although he is a special case in which time (to adjust) won’t necessary fix the behavior. Working with a trainer would be highly advised to assist in his rehabilitation.

I think he would do best in a home with lots of dogs, like a ranch or a place where visitors aren’t going to be as common.  We do not recommend for him to go into a home with children regardless of age.

Smokey is listed as being 12 years old and the paperwork says he’s a chihuahua/dachshund mix—but who knows. What we do know is that Smokey is one great dog. He’s sweet, loves to hang out with people and other dogs, enjoys a walk or two, but really loves being in the room with you, napping, getting treats, walking over to you to say hey, and then cuddling back up in his bed. Smokey gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. He would be a great addition to any family looking for a belly to rub and someone to chit-chat with while cooking or going to the grocery store. Oh yeah, he likes car rides. In fact, he likes just about anything you want to include him in–it’s all an adventure to this boy. This is Slick! He was rescued from San Francisco’s ACC on his last day, and has been grateful ever since. Slick has high energy and will do really well with a somewhat active family, with older kids (or no kids), but no children under 10, because he will knock them over in his excitement. Slick is a good dog who’s been hanging out with Felix the dog trainer in Sacramento. Felix has this to say about Slick: High food drive, shows some dog aggression but easily controlled. Playful and interactive. Does not bark at strangers. Due to his mild dog aggression, the new owners must be willing to discipline.

We think Slick will do wonderfully in a family who has had dogs before, and who will lovingly enforce rules and boundaries. Slick really is playful and sweet- and he’d love to be someone’s running buddy, or go to someone who spends time outside- whether in the backyard playing fetch, or hiking all across California. Skyy is a beautiful, 17 lb, 2 year old male miniature American Eskimo dog.

His owner had to give him up because of reasons NOT having to do with Skyy, but because she had to move into a housing situation where she cannot have a dog. Skyy’s owner could have taken him to an animal shelter, but she felt he would likely never had made it to an “adoptable” list. She knows that eskies are very rarely placed directly by shelters. They are typically so loving and attached to their people that to be separated from them and placed with many strangers and strange dogs at once in a shelter generally causes them to get frantically fearful.

After contacting the specialty American Eskimo rescues, his owner asked Rocket Dog Rescue to help rehome Skyy. Skyy has never been in a shelter, and is now in a secure foster home waiting to meet his truly forever people.

Skyy is also a special needs dog. His former owner rescued him from a backyard breeder where his head had been injured. His thinking and behaviors are good, but the little guy is nearly blind in his right eye, because his skull was hit in such a way that the muscles around the eye that cause it to blink do not work, and the eye is not reactive to light. Skyy will become blind in that eye within about the next year. For the best care of the eye, his new owners will have to commit to placing medicine in it twice a day to help keep it moist, or to having a vet permanently close it for him.

Skyy is loving and playful, with a beautiful white coat and a happy smile. He is typical of eskies in his behaviors, and if you are thinking of giving this guy a chance at the good life with you, please either already be familiar with eskies or read about them on the web.

Shiloh is a truly beautiful dog, inside and out. He is a beautiful light grey/brown brindle, sweet warm brown eyes and a charming disposition. Shiloh was brought to his owner because she had to move. it was really sad for the animals because she had 5 dogs and ended up moving to a place that would not take them ..Shiloh was left at the shelter because he had no other place to go. Shiloh has been a patient and sweet dog, he has really been a gentleman and is a real calm and cute personality. he does not bark or get into trouble. beside his fear of getting his photo taken he has been a real trooper and has been such a great dog to have here.

He does well with some other dogs, (calm and non challenging dogs), it really is dependant on the other dog. He does not like hyper dogs that are up in his face and may grumps at them but ..who wouldn’t ? (I know I would) ..

So I would say that even though he has lived with other dogs for his whole life, I think a home where he is the only dog may be best. he is so cool- he will fill your day with warmth and smiles.

Shiloh is loyal and attentive, silly and playful at times, sweet as pie and mellow as can be. He is just great company… He is about 8 years old, a 55-65 pound good looking pitbull with a heart of solid gold. We are looking for a foster home or permanent home for Shiloh.

SHIRRAH (pronounced Shear- rah) is now a ten month old puppy who is referred to as an “American Shelter dog”. She is most likely a mix of pitbull terrier, Labrador retriever, a dab of greyhound, and a large dose of CUTENESS! She came to us from SF Animal Care and Control where she was very, very scared. It is clear that she has been under-socialized (maybe taken too young from her mother?) and needed to catch up with her doggy skills. She is now 45 pounds, a bit lanky, but may still fill out a bit when full-grown.

Shirrah loves people and cuddling…to her, heaven would be sleeping on your bed at night! She is still shy with people, especially men. She is okay with older children or teens, but a bit too skittish with the sudden movements of a younger child. She can also be a bit mouthy when excited. She cannot go into a home with children younger than twelve yrs.

She is currently being fostered with a senior female pit mix, an adult male pit mix, and a male French bull dog. She loves her foster brothers and often engages in “pitty” play, which can be rough. She also played well with some recent foster puppies (little Chihuahua mixes) and never hurt them accidentally or intentionally. Consequently, from her playing, she has some minor scratches on her head from playing, not fighting. (She also stuck her head through a wire fence and got a scratch from that). She can be a defiant teenager at times, trying to “push buttons” of the other dogs to see what behavior she can get away with. She will try to dominate and be the “alpha” dog, so it is imperative that she continue with obedience training with her new owner. This will help her know where her hierarchical status is.

She has shown some food defensiveness to other dogs and is fed separately and away from the other dogs. (This should be continued in her new home). Because she eats in her crate, she will literally head- dive into her crate when the food comes out. She takes treats well by hand and is learning to earn all rewards. She is very food motivated (great for training!) but will also try to eat every other dog’s food if given a chance.

Like most dogs, she does require a proper introduction to stranger dogs. Additionally, she can be “dog-selective”, which may mean she will not like at least half of the dogs she meets. She can be snarky if the other dog comes on too strong or rudely. She will probably not be a “dog park” dog, one who could frolic off-leash at Ft Funston or Pt Isabel.

Shirrah also has a tail-chasing habit which, according to dog trainers, is indicative of anxiety. Since being in a stable foster home, she may still engage in this behavior when feeling overly excited or stressed. But, with the help of appropriate distractions and gentle corrections, she has markedly improved with her tail-chasing. She does not exhibit any overt separation anxiety, but she has the company of other resident dogs. She requires some activity to keep her from boredom or she will “find” things to do (not always the best choices….).

She has not been tested with cats, but based on her interest in small animals (mostly birds), she probably would be too interested in them.

Shirrah really needs someone who will be patient and very committed to continuing formal obedience training with her. She completed and excelled in a basic training course, but she needs further socialization and firm guidance in learning good doggy manners. Having an older and established dog in the house might give her more confidence, too. She is a very special dog who is ready to blossom into being the best companion ever!

Meet Shadow! Shadow is one good looking bully boy. He has beautiful coloring and gets compliments every where he goes. Shadow is 2 years old. He’s an affectionate, fun loving boy.  He does great with other dogs, and enjoy living with his female boxer friend, he spends all day licking her. He’s a real charmer to the ladies! He’s a very smart boy, he knows all his commands and walks well on leash. He is also housebroken. Shadow is a dominant male dog and he needs a strong leader with breed experience to keep him in his place.

This is Sampson, a pit who was rescued from Crescent City. The people at the Crescent City animal shelter said Sampson was tied up with one other dog, and nothing else, including not very much food or human attention, so everything is very new to this boy. He’s been at a 30 day doggie boot camp, where he learned commands, confidence and how to behave with manners. Sampson is a very laid-back dog, who likes getting attention and will be a very loyal companion.

Sampson is not the right dog for first time dog owners. Sampson is willing to let dogs approach him, but he can react in an aggressive manner- for this reason, we’ll be looking for a home where Sampson will be the only dog and with owners who have had experience with dogs before and are willing to discipline. Sampson is hanging out with Felix, the dog trainer, who says that Sampson has high food drive, very willing to engage, very trainable, and has medium energy. Felix also says that Sampson can be somewhat aloof at times, is independent, and is good with his kids.

We think Sampson will do best in a rural home or a home in a quiet neighborhood- no city for this guy. Sampson is actually pretty mellow, and will chill out for most of the day, but he will also appreciate a daily walk or play time. Roxie is an eight-year-old border collie mix who has really come into her own with
middle age! She’s a sweet, mellow girl who loves to roam around the land–she’s
a true frontier girl! Roxie knows sit, down, stay, and is great on or off the
leash. She loves to explore the outdoors, and thinks there’s nothing better
then watching the sunset from a cool spot with a good bone and her new forever
home. The ideal situation for this girl would be an active couple or family who
enjoyed the outdoors as much as this girl does. If Roxie’s new family has kids,
they need to be older than 12, and she would be forever grateful if you had a
bit of land, or at least a sizeable backyard. This girl is not a city girl–she
relishes romps through the grass, sand, beach, you name it! Roxie is a great
dog, and perfect for someone who wants an older, more mature dog for all their

Reno is about a one year old female smooth coated lab mix, mixed with what we just don’t know. She is a quiet dog, somewhat shy and submissive, buy very sweet. Reno is coming to Rocket Dog Rescue next week and she needs a foster home. Rena is a beautiful 2-3 year old lab/shepherd mix who was rescued from the Merced Shelter on her last day.. . She has a beautiful golden coat, with warm brown eyes. Rena has such a darling face and still looks like a puppy. She is sweet and affectionate, and loves nothing more than to lay by your side and get a belly rub. Once she opens up, she is an amazing dog that loves to cuddle with you as you watch a movie. She is an incredibly well behaved dog and won’t do anything until you let her know that it’s OK first. She is very intelligent. She has learned all her commands, walks well on leash and is 100% housebroken. She is fine with dogs once she knows them, she warms right up. Rena has the sweetest demeanor and will make a wonderful companion to any household.

Pickles is likely a lab-chi-terrier-dachshund mix, 3-5 year old, neutered male dog in good health with all shots who weighs between 16-18 pounds. His short, neat coat is golden. He is short-legged and long-bodied has stand-up ears, a ready-to-wag tail with a slight curve, and big brown eyes in an intelligent, expressive, foxy face. He is really cute.

Pickles is an extremely affectionate & loving little dog with the people he loves. We believe that he is a recovering victim of abuse, so he is afraid of strangers, so all introductions must be done very carefully and patiently. He loves to cuddle, kiss and play. He is a smart little dog who learns quickly. It takes a few days for Pickles to fall in love with people, but thereafter he is super-sweet. Pickles really needs a special gentle kind affectionate person or people to love and take care of him. Because of his fear issues, he should be in an adult only household. Pickles has a medium energy level, and only needs moderate exercise. He walks very well on leash. Pickles loves to play with his toys and especially play ball. Pickles gets along very well with other dogs & likes dogs both inside and out of his pack. He prefers to sleep with his person, but can sleep elsewhere, including a crate. He is a natural watch dog, but only barks for a good reason. With some gentle love, care & training, Pickles will make a fine house or apartment dog.

Some dogs are dog-dogs; some are people-dogs. Paul here is assuredly a
people-dog! All Paul wants in the whole world is to be at your side.

He’s a 1-2 year old pit bull that was raised from a pup by teen girl
and her family, but sadly ended up stuck living alone, outdoors in the
back yard. I had him neutered and am working with him on his basic
commands. He does know sit, and is getting to be very good on the
leash. Paul is smart, playful, and really wants to please all people,
but he is also full of youthful, bouncy, energy. Ideally, he’d be
with someone who could give him a good bit of exercise and play a
couple of times a day because once he gets some romping in, he’s a
nice, cuddly gentleman. He has a very submissive nature, and he’ll
thrive with someone that can make him feel secure by giving him clear
boundaries and some training. So ideally he should be with someone
fairly strong and confident in their dog handling skills. While he is
totally eager and ready to learn; I think he really doesn’t yet
understand how big and strong he is. He’s got a puppy’s brain but a
grownup’s physique.

He is great with kids, loves them in fact. But he seems a little too
excited by cats so should not live with one. I have introduced him to
other dogs, but not off-leash or unsupervised. He’s been an only dog
his whole life and should probably be the only guy in his new home.

Oso is a sweet six year old Smooth Coated Shar pei. He is a very loyal and devoted dog. He bonds strongly to his people. He is really intelligent and independent, all around he’s a very simple dog who does not require much except love and company and a walk or so. (Although he would not mind hanging around the house during the day on a doggie bed.)

He was a family dog for 6 years and his family lost there home and left Oso at the shelter, it was and still is very hard on him as Sharpei’s are EXTREMELY devoted
to there people and bond with 1-2 people strongly, he lost the only family he knew and his other dog buddies (were adopted out by the shelter.)

Oso has been really very calm with smaller dogs and goes out in the yard with them. Typical reaction to a dog larger or the same size but dominant is to get a stiff body language and growl a little/ I just lead him away from the other dog (he is always on leash h a sharpei will normally avoid confrontation than rush up to another dog so that’s great..) He would rather avoid confrontation with other dogs.

Meet Mo-town! He is a phenomenal three year old pitbull/pointer mix. He has the most beautiful coloring and gets compliments everywhere he goes. What an awesome looking coat! This handsome boy was going to be put down at a high kill shelter, and rocket dog rescue saved him just in time. He is so affectionate and will jump in your lap and give kisses to everyone he meets. He has such a mellow demeanor, and is so friendly with other dogs, even a 5lb Chihuahua. He bonds with people so quickly and is an extremely devoted dog. He walks perfectly on leash, and knows most of his commands, as he is just so eager to please his people. I have never met such a fun loving, social, all around great doggie. He would do best in an adult home. His bags are packed and he’s ready to go to his new home…

Molly is a sweet 11 month old American pit bull terrier/pointer mix who loves people; she really bonds quickly. She was saved from a high kill shelter on her last day. She likes to play fetch, tug, loves belly and chest rubs, and putting her soft head on your lap. She is curious about everything and everybody and likes to learn. She is so gentle and gets along so well with other dogs and plays in doggie play groups, and loves the dog park where she does fantastic. She also like cats too! Molly is so smart and she knows all her commands, and walks well on leash. She has the sweetest demeanor. . . Molly would do fine in a home with kids 10+ as she is so loving, and gentle. Mo is a 2 year old neutered male Lab mix. He weighs about 60 lbs. He is black with a white chest, & toes. He has lab ears and a somewhat fuzzy coat. He is a little shy and submissive, but a very nice boy who needs someone to show him a little love. Mo really needs to get out of his pen and into a foster home. He is already neutered. This is Millie, a smart, eager to please 3 year old who loves people. She is a retriever/ pit mix, maybe? Millie’s favorite thing to do is play fetch, but she also loves to hang out and play. Her last home included a teenager and a 9 year old, who she loved playing with. Millie has been well-trained- she knows her basic commands, including heel, and walks on a leash properly. Millie’s only issue is other dogs- she is not their friend. Millie’s home needs to be one where she is the only dog, somewhere outside the city, with a nice sized backyard, so she can play all day long, or hang out while you barbecue, garden, or sunbathe. Millie’s needs are minimal- food, water, shelter, and lots of love. With proper training, which Millie has had, and you would be provided with, Millie can walk down the street while on leash, however, off-leash around other dogs isn’t possible- this girl just isn’t into dogs. Her new home will have to be vigilant about keeping her away from other dogs, but she will more than reward you with her eternal devotion and plenty of kisses. Millie loves people, and as playful and well-behaved as she is in the house, we know she’ll find a home that will appreciate her. Millie also loves exercise, so she’d be the ultimate running buddy if there’s a runner out there looking for a loyal canine. Millie is housebroken, up to date on all of her shots, spayed, and would be the perfect dog for a family, couple, or even one person looking for the perfect companion. Meet Mickey! He is a sweet 1 year old chiweenie! (Chihuahua + Dachshund) He is a super cute little guy, and can be shy when first meeting new people, but then once he gets to know you he warms up. He like other dogs, and is currently fostered with a big boxer whom he gets along great with! There best buds. Mickey is house-trained and such a good boy in house and behaves great. He would do best in a mellow home, and he’s not big on busy area’s but he loves walks in the park and going to the beach. Mickey would do best in a home with no kids, where he could be the baby and get all the love and attention. He’s a great cuddle buddy.

This is Mary, a sweet pit mix about two years old. Mary is a mellow girl who loves hanging out with you, having her ears rubbed, and sitting at your feet while you watch TV. Mary knows sit and how to walk properly on a leash, and is in the process of learning new skills. Mary loves food, treats, bones, and her cushy bed. She’ll eat just about anything you give her- it’s all exciting- and if she were lucky enough to be adopted into a home with a chef- well, she knows when she’s won the jackpot!

Mary likes going on walks and hikes, but she also loves to stalk wildlife- a fresh gopher hole is like a trip to Disney Land! Which, unfortunately, means no cats or other small pets. But that’s ok- she’ll keep your yard free of deer, moles and voles, and anything else that might ruin your prized roses- Mary takes her job very seriously.

Mary really is a mellow, laid-back girl who wants a loving, comfortable new home to join. With some extra training, she’ll be your right hand girl, ready to help you take on the world- or just those pesky backyard varmints. Mary also loves hanging out on the couch, keeping your floor clean from falling food, and greeting you with kisses! She would prefer to be with humans more than with other dogs. Lucy is a 7 year old cute poodle/jack russell mix. This wonderful girl was once someone’s loved pet, she was a devoted pet, and then sadly left behind at the shelter… Luckily Rocket Dog Rescue saved her just in time. She has opened up so much since she has been in foster care, and she is now looking for her forever home! She is a great girl, she does fine with other dogs but tends to be a little sassy… What can we say, she’s a bossy gal.

Lucy is a funny, outgoing, sweet, and energetic dog. Lucy loves taking long walks and meeting new people and doggies. She is also very food motivated and is eager to please. Lucy is always wagging her cute little stubby tail just waiting to meet her next friend. Lucy is one you’ll have to meet to appreciate. Lucy should go to an adult home. Meet Lorenzo! He is a very affectionate 3 year old male Chihuahua,. He is caramel brown with long little legs, and is cute as can be. He’s a small guy at only about 5lbs. Lorenzo is very playful, but also enjoys quiet times with his human friends. He loves to be massaged and rubbed. His favorite play activity is chasing a round fuzzy toy and he can run very fast. He prefers to sleep with his owner at night, but can also sleep in a crate if necessary. He’s a little baby…Once he warms up to new people, he is such an angel and is very loving. He does well in the house, and also is fine with older kids. Lorenzo is fine with dogs his size. This darling has his bags packed and is ready to go to his new home!

This sweetie is the most inquisitive, curious, intelligent dog I’ve yet to meet!
She loves to be active and outside, and definitely needs to go somewhere with a backyard. She’s about eight years old, and is a mix of some kind (we think pit/lab). She is vibrant, active and acts waaaay more like a three-year-old. She knows sit, down, stay, come and is great on a leash–this sweetheart has impeccable manners! One of her favorite things to do is go to a spot where she has plenty of room to run (like the beach!) and just run! She also loves to fetch, chase lizards, and chew bones. And she loves to give you presents–like her balls and bones. Lilu is a fantastic dog. She gets along with most other dogs, but would absolutely love it if she were your only dog. Lilu would do great with an active couple who spent a lot of time outdoors, and who would make Lilu their top dog; she’d also love a family setting with older kids.

Lai Fu is approximately 2 1/2 yr old red/gold Formosan Mountain Dog. He is a fixed male and extremely healthy.  He was hit by a car in Taiwan and was treated there for a broken right leg. He still has 2 damaged toes…but it scarcely hampers him. He is a very active boy.  He loves to play…with toys, balls, shoes, other dogs, cats, people. He loves to cuddle with other dogs and his person. He is stanger shy at first…but left to come around on his own…it doesn’t take long. He is confident, good natured, affectionate pup.  Lai Fu (his name means ‘bringer of fortune”) is very smart and willing to please a fair-minded owner.

He needs a home where he can get a lot of attention, some formal training, lots of activity and a playful leader/ owner.  He does guard…will alarm bark. Will eat shoes left around.  Can regress on housetraining during stormy wet days. He is a sight hound hunter so will chase anything that runs or moves fast.  He chases my cat but doesn’t hurt her. A cat that isn’t afraid of dogs would be perfect. They often sleep together.  As he matures with the right (strong and fair) owner…he will be phenomenal.  He is such a joyful, funny dog. I wouldn’t be giving him up if I weren’t losing my home. But he can really move on to a new situation at his age and bond with a new family.

Koby came to me a few months back and he was about to be put down at Animal care and control in san francisco.  He is a very big puppy at 55lbs but is full grown and we believe he is about a year old and is a mix of Norwegian Elkhound and Cattle dog. 

Koby knows all his basic commands and is leash trained and does well with cats. He is very active and still needs lots of reinforcement but I have found out over time he does best when he is reprimanded for his hyperness in a calm way, otherwise he thinks you are playing and then will play even harder back. Because of his rough puppy like behavior he would do best in a home with older teeange kids because he runs into things a lot and I worry that he would knock over smaller children. He is a very kind, loving dog but will need a very strong consistent leader with patients. He plays well with my female dog but once again he is very rough but non-aggressive. He does well outside the home meeting new dogs on the street but still because of his rough playing I think he should be the only dog. 

He loves exercise and loves to be outside in the sun whether it is hiking or going to the park he is such a happy companion and will turn heads wherever you go. He is fully vaccinated, neutered and Micropchipped and would be best in a new home that is active and will stick by him through out his whole life. Keller is the sweetest old lady! She is blind, very hard of hearing, and is about 11-13 years old, and is a chow mix.  She belonged to an elderly woman who has passed on, and now Keller is hanging out at the ranch in Petaluma, hoping someone might be have some room for her. Her needs are very basic, but pretty specific. Keller likes to be outside! She may not be comfortable in a house, as she bumps into things, but she would love to spend her golden years with someone who had a porch and a backyard, or a backyard with some other kind of shelter. She really is a sweet dog, who loves to nap throughout the day and alternate between a sunny spot and a place in the shade.  The perfect home for Keller would be a place that had a secure, fenced in backyard with some kind of shelter (a porch would be awesome!) but without steps.  You would ideally be someone who enjoyed your backyard as well, perhaps you garden or sunbathe or read outside or eat outside. Judy is a petite (30 lbs.) rottie shepherd mix rescued from the shelter in Merced. Judy is about a year old and wonderful with kids. Other dogs — not so much. Judy is dog-reactive and should go to a home where she will be your only (canine) girl. She has been at bootcamp for the last month with Felix Sunga, a wonderful trainer, and her manners are wonderful. Felix is happy to be a resource for her adoptive home should they ever need to consult him.

Jenny is a beautiful compact 40 pound little blue female pitbull with white markings. She loves to sit in your lap and watch a movie with you. She is housebroken and crate trained. She does well with other dogs but would be best in a home with no other pets. Jenny Blue is a sassy girl, snores like a truck driver, snuggles under blankets and loves kitties. You might say she doesn’t share well with others, but she loves her people. She is precious. Once you do get to know her, you will fall in love with her. She is very endearing and will make you roll on the floor laughing with some of her antics. This is one you will have to see to appreciate…

Jenny needs a foster or adoptive home!

Jasmine is a very sweet, playful pit mix about 1-2 years old. She wags her whole body when she sees you, and loves to play and hang out. She really enjoys going on walks— she’ll be a great walk buddy. Jasmine appreciates the simple things in life- a warm day to sunbathe, a bush to sniff, a pond to swim in, and a belly rub— those are things she loves.

Jasmine listens well and really wants to please— she lights up when she does something good, and loves to hear praises. She also loves food and will do just about anything for a treat. We think she’ll do quite well in a home where her training will be continued so she can keep learning new tricks.  We believe she’ll do well in a family with larger children— she’ll love the attention. Jasmine is better suited to a home where she will be your only canine girl. While she wags her tail when she sees other dogs, she quickly becomes dominant when playing with them. On leash, she behaves well, but she may not do well in a home with other dogs.

Jasmine is a great dog— and we know it will only take one meet-n-greet with this sassy girl— she’ll steal your heart immediately. With training, and a family who lovingly enforces rules and actively participates in providing Jasmine with the skills to be a great dog— she will shine! Jada is a very beautiful white pitbull girl, She is about 2 years old. She is a very compact little girl weighting only 40lbs. Jada has spent most of her life without an owner, waiting for a place to call home. She was saved from a high kill shelter some time ago, and had a litter of pups when she arrived. All her puppies found wonderful homes, but she is still waiting to find her forever home. . .

Jada is the sweetest dog, She is an absolute lovebug, he favorite thing to do is sit on your lap and give you kisses. When ever you walk up to her to pet her, her entire boy wiggles in joy. She is so unbelievably devoted to her people. Jada has done training with a professional  trainer so she is a very well mannered girl who knows all her commands perfectly, such as heel, sit, stay, down, come, and much more! She is also fine with walking by other dogs without reacting but Jada should be an only dog. She is absolutely WONDERFUL with every person that she meets. She is so full of love. She is a phenomenal dog and she is going to make someone very happy! Jada would do best in a home an experienced owner.

Jack is a 10 year old Am Staff who happens to be blind. He doesn’t let either of these things hold him back! Amazingly, he was found as a stray in downtown LA. Jack loves long walks, car rides and the beach- but is mellow enough to sleep in his bed all day if called for. He quickly figures out new spaces and does fine with stairs and being around crowds. He has wonderful obedience skills, in fact just graduated a basic obedience course. He has a solid stay, sit, down and recall. He should be able to pass his Canine Good Citizenship, and maybe even Therapy Dog test.

Jack is very friendly. He gives kisses to everyone he meets, and calmly greets other dogs in a sociable manner. He would do well living with another friendly dog. He has some separation anxiety so would do best with someone who is home part of the day or can bring him to work. Jack is neutered, up to date with vaccines and in good general health.

We (Jack’s current foster) love him to pieces; he is wonderful! We’d love to adopt him ourselves. However, our resident dog does not like him-she is a female Cattle Dog and can be picky about who she lives with. It has recently gotten worse and Jack needs a new foster home ASAP. Jack should have no problem living with another friendly dog-he does play bows for most every dog he meets, even on leash! Don’t let his age, or lack of sight, deter you from meeting this great dog. He has many more years of love to give and has one of the sweetest temperaments possible.

Isis is a beautiful blue nose/white pit bull mix. She is around 2 years old. Isis is deaf, but she is very good at communicating and sometimes I even forget she cant hear. Isis is full of love and her favorite thing to do is sit in your lap and get belly rubs. Isis gets along with cats and other dogs, although she requires supervision as she has the typical female pit bull short-fuse around certain other dogs. She is very in-tune with her people and is a fast learner. She is working on sit, down, come, and heel. Isis walks very well on leash and loves to ride in cars. She is not destructive in the house, doesn’t bark, and is crate-trained. She is an awesome running partner, as she’s great on leash and has the stamina for long runs. This is Inka! A very sweet old lady, who loves to be included. Inka is currently hanging out with dogs of all sizes (from the 6 pounders to the 80 pounders) and she does great with all of them. I think she thinks of herself as the grandma who encourages and, also, tells the kids to cool it. She’s great! Inka is about nine to 10 years old, and her only issue is her hips. She needs a place that doesn’t have steps, and then she’s golden. We are really hoping to find Inka a wonderful family to join and live out her golden years- and with her sweet, gentle, get-along-with-everyone nature, we don’t think it will be hard. Inka loves attention, she loves going on small walks, sniffing bushes, and playing with her soft toys. She also loves food! Inka would love to have someone to hang out with. She’s a good watchdog but also very friendly. Someone who has a home with a yard for Inka to hang out in would be perfect. Hi, my name is Hula-Girl, because I do the Hula every time I wag my tail, which is a lot! My foster mom took me home when I was being abandoned on the street.   I need a forever home with someone who is not a first time dog owner and who is calm & loving. I know my basic commands and even shake when asked (especially at meal time). I am house trained but do need prompting to go outside to do my business. At my foster mom’s I’m living with a pack of dogs both small & large & it’s been a learning experience. Turns out I would do best with one other neutered MALE dog as I can be a bit bossy and pushy with other females. It’s best that I don’t live with cats or small dogs because I get too stimulated (the squirrels drive me nuts!!!)

Hula is probably around a year old and has been spayed and she has received all her shots. She stays inside unsupervised with the pack for sometimes as long as 6 hours with no problem, she also plays outside in the yard. This young girl will make someone (family) a devoted dog, she’s smart & learns quickly. She appears to be a mix of some sort; sight/scent hound and possibly pit; she’s very lean & muscular, weighing 45lbs.
