Flash is about a 4 year old Whippet Basenji mix who came to Rocket Dog Rescue when another well intended rescue organization could no longer afford to keep its doors open. He is 18lbs of lightning quickness. We love to watch him jet around the yard when he gets really excited. Flash doesn’t need anyone to give chase, just runs for the feel of the wind in his ears. He is a bit timid on first introduction but warms up fairly quickly. Can you blame him? This poor kid has been bounced around in his life quite a bit and is never sure where he stands. He has done very well with other dogs as long as they aren’t too pushy as that makes him uncomfortable. He likes to take naps in the comfort of his foster brother’s company.
Flash prefers to sit quietly in his bed/corner as small as possible until he feels comfortable with new people or dogs in his vicinity. He would rather approach them when he feels comfortable rather than vice versa. He makes his foster family giggle when he looks at us with his attentive and inquisitive eyes because that endearing underbite makes him look so silly its hard to take him seriously! Flash is highly motivated to please his people. I have a feeling he would pick up tricks quickly. He also doesn’t mind folding his gangly legs into a compact ball so you can carry him around belly up like a newborn baby. Did I mention he likes to cuddle? He has been good with children so far but would be best in a home without cats. Flash will make a great and very astute companion for some lucky family/person.
