I have a couple photos attached. Wall-E (well, actually I am spelling it just Wally now) is doing great. He is such a sweet lamb. Always checking with me to see if what he’s doing is right. I am hoping he will loosen up over time. He is my little military man right now, always going by the rules. It was hard at first to get him to sit on the furniture. Now he will do it occasionally. Eventually mabe he will sleep on my bed, but so far he just sleeps in a little niche beside the bed on a pile of pillows. We have another dog now he loves to play with. Sasha. They chase each other and play tug of war. They get along like litter mates. Wally is so easy to walk, loves our jaunts out along the hiking trails. And he loves to ride with me in the car. Loves to put his front paws up on the little console between the front seats to see all the action, as if he is our navigator.
I have taken off his collar for a while, so his neck can grow some hair back where it had rubbed off. I put Wally in a bright baby blue harness (Puppia) when we go for walks. He looks so cute. He is indeed a dream dog. He loves my son Graham and Graham dotes on him. Wally gets along just fine with the cats and even the birds. A simple, “Leave it,” and Wally retreats and goes back to his own business. Wally has discovered that a creature (probably an opossum) is living in the bushes in our front yard, and he will spend five or more minutes at a time just staring at the bushes waiting for a rustle or a sound. Of course, he loves his bones and toys and all the dog treats he gets for showing off as I train Sasha. We feel so lucky to have Wally. Just adore him. Our house feels like a home again. Thank you all so much for rescuing him and caring for him. We are so grateful.
Sincerely,
Joan Bechtel
