We met Jesse, a 2 ½ year old white malti-poo, 3 months ago; he was under-weight, nervous, and down-on-his luck. It’s hard to believe such a cute little dog had such a rough start in life. My husband and I wanted to give him a new “forever home”, but we had to get approval from Lola, our Cairn Terrier. During the “home visit” Lola calmly watched as Jesse ate her food and played with her toys. Within a few minutes, Jesse and Lola were tumbling around and playing together like long-lost friends; it was obviously the “Lola” stamp of approval. After some amazingly speedy paperwork, he came to live with us a few days later. As Jesse gradually gained weight, he also re-gained his strength and self-confidence. Jesse and Lola have become best buddies, and Jesse clearly seems secure and happy in his new home; the picture says it all. Many thanks to all the volunteers at Rocket Dog Rescue for giving Jesse a second chance. You rock! November 4, 2007, San Francisco, CA
