This is Diamond. She is a three year-old pit mix who was surrendered to Oakland Animal Shelter.
If a picture could tell a thousand words, so could Diamond’s body. She definitely hasn’t received the care that every animal deserves. Her body tells us she’s had many litters. She is also underweight and has some superficial injuries to her belly and toes that are healing nicely. As if that weren’t enough, Diamond has low muscle mass in her hips, indicating she’s had very little exercise.
Diamond’s spirit tells us another story. She is sweet and gentle and wants human attention. We haven’t tested her with other dogs yet because this girl deserves some time to just decompress first but she shows a pleasant interest in dogs when she sees them.
Diamond is currently getting lots of love at our sanctuary but we prefer a foster home for her to blossom in. We can’t wait for this sweetheart to experience the life that every pup deserves!
If you’d like to inquire about fostering Diamond, please fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you. (MM)
