Negra is a 2-year-old pitty mix that’s currently 60lbs. This sweetheart was rescued by Animal Care & Control in Fresno after being found *pregnant and chained in a yard with no shelter or protection from the elements. But even after her rough beginnings, she’s she loves people and other dogs. In fact, she is often so excited to meet other people and dogs that she can hardly contain it, and will literally jump for joy. She’s super smart and that’s correctable with some basic training, but for now, is looking for a home without small children who might accidentally be knocked over. *Puppies have all found their forever homes.
She is very eager to please and likes checking in regularly with her foster. She is always looking and trying to understand what you’re expecting of her or what command you’re asking from her. She’s smart and a very fast learner! She learned “go potty” from an experienced dog within a few hours, and now happily trots outside on command every night before bed.
These days she spends her time between romps in the backyard and naps on the couch. She has a moderate amount of energy. Negra needs daily walks- either one long walk a day or a few short walks. She is calm on walks and likes to stop and smell, and is nonreactionary to other dogs. She will be very attached to her person, knows nothing about “personal space,” and will demand pets/body contact. Fill out an application and a volunteer will be in touch. (EH)
