Alli is a terrier mix who is around 1 year old and about 15lbs. She came from a hoarding situation where the owner ended up with too many pets, however she is pretty well socialized given the circumstances, so she seems to have still gotten affection and love. Although Alli is shy and timid, she is a total sweetheart who is quickly warming up in her foster home. She can be skittish when being picked up, but once you get her in your arms, she becomes comfortable and will snuggle with you in your lap, asking for belly rubs.
Alli is potty-trained to go outside and seems very comfortable being outside, enjoying the backyard. She is working on her leash training on walks and is getting better each day, but will still need some continued training to get more comfortable on walks and understand that she can go potty while on leash. She gets along great with other dogs (and even cats!), and would love a home with another confident, friendly dog to keep her company and show her how to be a dog.
Alli is generally pretty quiet in the home, and will sleep quietly in her crate all night, as long as she is in the bedroom with you. She does get carsick on longer car rides, and does show some signs of potential separation anxiety by barking when left alone at home, although she seems to be getting better with that as she gains more confidence.
Alli’s ideal forever home would be a quiet home with no young children, a fenced backyard, another dog for companionship, and someone that would be at home most of the day with her.
