This sweet girl Alabama (Ally) is a fully trained, loving and devoted companion. Her current owners have raised her since she was a puppy and are very sad to be rehoming her. They just had a baby and Ally requires a home without small children.
Ally is four years old, in good health, 65 pounds, a mixed breed sheppard. Ally is a “resource guarder” which means she is jealous of other dogs and wants all the love, attention, food and toys to herself. She also gets nervous around small children and can easily get over stimulated.
Ally is devoted to pleasing her people, she does tricks and is very motivated by treats. She’s had extensive training with positive reinforcement methods and responds well to training. She is well behaved at home, she doesn’t get food off the counter, she doesn’t chew anything but her toys and bones. She loves belly rubs, going for hikes and being brushed. Ally has lived in the city her whole life but would be happiest in a home with a yard.
Ally requires an experienced dog owner who will diligently use positive reinforcement techniques. She gets along with most dogs she meets at the dog park but must wear a muzzle because she has bitten other dogs when she was confronted with aggression. She loves to go on hikes and has a playful disposition. She really wants to make her people happy and will flourish in the right home.
Ally would be best suited as an only dog with no children in the home. Please be an active home, as Ally will need lots of exercise.
