Hello! My name is Archie Bear… it suits me, right? I’m sweet and cute like a medium-sized teddy bear and I’m as velvety soft as one too. I’m ready to join your family, and join in the snuggles!
I’m 4 years old, and weigh 47 pounds. I’m not sure how I ended up wandering the streets of Oakland, but I think I was out there for a while. Food was hard to come by. I think I must have lived with some really nice people back before I became a “stray”, because I love humans! I can’t wait to live with some again. I’m really good at riding in the car, and keeping fairly quiet, so I hope I can impress my future humans with my good manners. I just learned “sit” on cue and I’m working on my other manners as well. I am vert treat motivated and a great candidate for some training.
Sometimes I’d rather eat my food in peace and not be bothered by anyone. I should probably live with humans who can understand that — so no children under 10 years old for me, please. Once I’m in a stable home with plenty of food to go around, I might ease up on this habit, so just be patient with me! I am also a little nervous on walks and sometimes sights and sounds catch my attention but don’t worry I don’t bark or lunge, I just may enjoy a quieter area to walk in where I can learn some good leash manners and feel safe in the world around me. Even though I love people I am not totally sure about other dogs yet. I don’t react to them but just sort of tolerate them and would probably like to be the only dog in the home. Everyone who meets me tells me I’m such a good boy. I hope you think I am too. Fill out an application and see for yourself. (BJ)
Bully breed experience is a huge plus. We want Archie to be a positive representative of his breed; we will opt for adopters who prioritize this mission.
