Aspen is an adorable 10-week-old female Cattle Dog. She is a smart, curious and playful puppy. She loves playing with other dogs and is eager to learn new tricks. She loves her toys, especially plush toys and balls; anything she can chew on.
Even though we believe Aspen is deaf, she has adapted to signs and to body cues very quickly. (She has not been formally tested.) She sleeps in her crate at night and is doing well with house-training. She loves to be by your side, and given the right reinforcement, learns very quickly.
Like all puppies, Aspen requires her new adopter to be home every two hours to provide consistency, socialization and training. This is an important developmental and bonding time.
Cattle dogs usually mature at about 40-50 pounds, but there are no guarantees how much Aspen will weigh. Please be mindful that herding breeds are high-energy dogs who need lots of physical and mental exercise throughout their lives. Hiking, long walks, fetch, learning new tricks etc will be what Aspen will be needing to provided ample exercise and stimulation.
