Hi, my name is Benjamin and I am a two-year old, 80-pound Great Pynanees, which is to say that I am a big, goofy, gentle giant. I am curious, affectionate, and I love long walks in the park and snuggling you as we sit and watch the sunset together. Did I mention that I LOVE hugs? At night I am happy to snuggle you to sleep and then get up and lie on the floor to protect you through the night.
I want to be your best friend, confidant and protector. No sound gets by me and I will be there to alert you with my deep woof to show you how much I care about making sure you are safe. I will even sing with sirens as they drive by to send good wishes to those in need. (This is typical Great Pyrenees behavior.)
I am still learning how to do this ‘leash thing.’ I am big and want to explore, so I may pull you and lunge to go my own way; my foster mom is just stern and stands her ground well with me. I have some learning to do and treats go a long way to motivate me. Since I am so big, I tend to be a little lazy. One good walk a day and patrolling the yard is all I really need. What can I say, I enjoy my beauty sleep. I need a home and you need lots of love- it’s a win-win!
Benjamin is a very nice dog and a real stunner. We are looking for folks with breed experience and a home with a yard that can meet his needs. If you are interested, let us know and a volunteer will be in touch! (SkS)
