Benny is a 5-year-old, 45 pound, bi-colored red Australian Shepherd. He gets complimented on his beauty on almost every walk he goes on. He is calm inside and loves to sleep and cuddle up next to his person. Then, when it is time to go outside, he is super excited and energetic! He would love a house with a yard to run around in. Benny also loves to walk, go on hikes, or join you for a run. Caveat: Benny needs someone who has the patience to help leash train him, as he tends to pull a lot. He loves all people, and loves to be around his person. If you’re sitting down, he will come up and calmly place his chin on your leg. Benny would thrive with someone who is home a lot of the time, or can take them with him.
Benny is housetrained and is very well behaved indoors. He also loves kids and is very patient with them. Benny is very intelligent and likes to cock his head when someone is talking to him, as if he is trying to understand. He also loves car rides, and when he wants to get your attention he will “talk” instead of bark. Benny used to love other dogs but was sadly attacked at a dog park and since then has been very nervous around new dogs. He will need a family that is committed to helping him learn to trust again, and he would do best in a home without another dog or cat.
