Bentley came to us very overweight and is working on getting down to a healthier size. Even though he’s still pretty chubby, he really enjoys walking (and trots along at a good pace). His foster is currently walking him around 4-5 miles a day. She thinks he would love more exercise once he slims down more – he could maybe even be a running partner. That said, he doesn’t seem to need hours of exercise to wear him out.
Bentley, like many labs, is ball-obsessed. He seems indifferent to squeaky toys so far, but he LOVES tennis balls – chasing them, chewing on them, catching them on the fly. He also enjoys a kong, but mostly when it’s filled with something yummy. He also gets along great with other dogs and always wants to play, but has a hard time understanding why some dogs don’t want to play with him. Bentley would love a home with another playful dog, but would also be happy being an only dog and playing with his dog friends at parks.
Bentley has great house manners! He’s fully house trained, is not destructive in any way, does fine when left on his own, and greets house guests politely. He’s also great with kids and very tolerant even with little ones. Overall he’s a really great well-rounded dog that would make an amazing addition to any family.
