Our gorgeous Big Alma is waiting for her true love! Could that be you?
Big Alma is about four years old and weighs 65 pounds; she’s a husky mix which means one thing: this gal needs exercise! Hikers, joggers, long-walkers, this girl is calling you. And guess what? She’s fab on lead, which makes things so much easier, right?
Huskies are prey-driven so, though Alma hasn’t been cat-tested, we’ll go out on a limb and say she’d be best in a no cat/small animal home.
And let’s let one of our fabulous Rocket Dog Sanctuary volunteers tell you in her own words about the fab Alma:
“Alma is a fabulous dog! Agreed on the older dog-savvy kids! She seems like she would be a really easy dog. I know that she lived with other dogs before she came to Rocket Dog. I think she would do well with an adult mellow dog as a companion. I know when she’s been on hikes she doesn’t show much interest in other dogs. Fine in their presence, not reactive or anything. I haven’t experienced her with other dogs at the Sanctuary but to me she doesn’t seem like an instigator & I think she would match well with dogs similar to her energy. We’ve had some reactive dogs in the back kennel & when they bark at her she just wants to pass as fast as possible. She whines but never reacts back. She barks at the Sanctuary in her kennel sometimes but I think she’s just a little anxious being there. I was told she is super mellow & quiet when he’s out & about. So she would be great with an owner who can provide her with daily walks/hikes. She doesn’t pull at all so she would make the BEST walking buddy! She’s also very playful, loves toys & fetch. So definitely would be a fun dog for older kids.”
We’d love for you to meet this beauty, so fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you. (PB/DA)
