Meet Billy Jack! Billy Jack was rescued from a shelter in Mendocino County and though, he’s basically a “country mutt” (we cannot determine what his breed mix might be….although we have heard several comments that his profile looks a lot like a Whippet), he’s a handsome, fun, energetic boy. He is 40 pounds, 2 years old and has been neutered.
So far BJ is getting along great in foster home and has made friends fast. Speaking of fast….he is a quite a runner and would love to get out for a run or hike daily. Since he is an energetic guy, he will need consistent and vigorous exercise. As of now, he could use some work on his leash manners, but with a good harness and a firm leader he will pick this up quickly. He has learned “sit” quickly and is very treat motivated. His recall is described as “excellent” by his foster. We do recommend training classes and obedience work when adopting a new dog.

Please be mindful that we receive many applications and emails and we are an ALL volunteer organization.Volunteers take applications seriously and spend a lot of time matching dogs to the right owners. With that said, we respectfully ask that you only apply for a dog that you are truly interested in and can take possession of immediately. We do not “hold” dogs. Thank you for your support!
