He is beloved by his family who is absolutely heartbroken that they are no longer able to provide him a home after a family split that resulted in a relocation to homes that would not allow pets.
With his original family, Brody was in a household that had four kids (aged 8, 14, 16, and 18). With his foster family, Brody has been in a household that has another dog and three cats. He has proven himself to be gentle and well behaved around both families and is welcoming to human and canine guests, including young children, and has not shown any indications of being territorial or protective. He is able to stay at home alone during the day and doesn’t chew or destroy any furniture.
Brody is an active pup who requires at least two walks a day for about 30-40 minutes each. He really enjoys social/play time with other dogs. He has been to dog parks and doggy daycare and plays well with other dogs. However, we have noticed that he does have some leash reactivity when he is on walks.
Brody does require one-on-one attention to satisfy his need for attention. He is a big licker and loves petting and belly rubs. He can get a little over-enthusiastic with his need for attention (he will jump up on people) though we are working to correct this behavior.
Brody would do well any home that loves him, but he would most benefit by being with a family that has experience working with big dogs.
