Don’t let her name fool you. Calamity Jane is really anything BUT a disaster! She is a fabulous dog and you’d never guess she has a sad backstory. Jane was brought to a county shelter after she was found in a field with her 6-week-old puppy. Who knows how they ended up out there. The good news is that they were soon brought to Rocket Dog, and her puppy found an amazing forever family. Now it’s mom’s turn!
Jane is about 70lbs. She is young-maybe 1-2 years-barely out of puppyhood herself. She is absolutely vibrant! She loves to play with her toys, especially if you are playing too. But if it’s not playtime, she will lay in her bed and quietly chew on a bone. Jane has impeccable house manners. She is often described as “super chill”! She’s mostly very quiet but will let you know if someone is at the door. But she’s no guard dog, because she will be happy to see anyone who comes in! This girl loves people, strangers included!
All Jane wants is to make you happy. She will be a fabulous family dog. You’ll want to invest in some training to help her walk nicely on leash (her foster reports she is already making progress) and learn other basic manners, but that’ll be a breeze considering how smart she is. She already knows how to sit and properly greet people without jumping. She also seems to love being around other dogs!
It would really be a calamity to miss out on this incredible dog. Fill out an application and a volunteer will be in touch! (AS)
