Don’t let this big girl fool you! Camilla has heart and personality bigger than her size. Like anyone who has been through a stressful situation, Camilla needs some patience. And once you earn her trust, you are rewarded with her hundred pound body flopping at your feet for a good ‘ol belly rub! We have watched her really grow and change from the love and kindness (and hotdogs!) from our volunteers and think she would just flourish in a quiet adult home with a yard for sunbathing. She’s been known to let you rest your head on her belly and read a book while lying in the sun.
Camilla likes walks and is getting better on a leash. She is very strong and requires a little muscle, but is quickly learning and picking up on basic commands (we think she also understands some Spanish!)
She is very quirky and communicative. If you listen/watch carefully, she’ll tell you what’s going on – A giant paw on your hand means “more scratches please”, gentle kisses from that big old snout means “you are totally my friend”, a low grumble means “please go slow, I’m nervous”, and her paws over her nose while you rub her ample belly means, “I’m in heaven!”
We think Camilla is approximately 7 years old and a shepherd/lab mix. She has earned the nicknames Queen Camilla, Mother Goddess and Cheese Monster! Fill out an application today here to meet this wonderful girl! (DZ)
