Medium (25 – 60 lbs) Learn MoreComet was part of an abandoned litter we rescued in Oakland. She is about 4.5 months old and we are guessing she is a Husky/Shepherd mix. She is the only one of her litter to have this beautiful red coat.
Comet was adopted by a wonderful family that included an older Shepherd. The resident dog did not take to Comet so they made the painstaking decision to re-home her. Comet does love other dogs and plays well with most. However, she is a fearless, confident puppy that is not picking up on the social cues of a dog who is telling her to leave them alone. This is what got her into trouble with the family shepherd.
Comet will need an attentive owner who can help socialize her. She is an active dog and needs training, exercise and enrichment to set her up for success.
Comet is doing well with potty training and is able to sleep through the night without needing a potty break. So far, she is not a fan of crates but prefers a wire crate if need be. Given the choice, she would much rather cuddle with her humans.
Comet is an awesome dog and we are excited to find her a forever home. If you think you could provide one for her, please fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you. (MM)
