Proof that great things come in small packages! Dewey is a true Lilliputian, tipping the scales at 4 lbs! Little 5 yr-old Dewey was adopted from a shelter, then returned to the same shelter because his “cherry eye” returned and the owners did not want to pay for surgery. (“Cherry eye” refers to a treatable condition where the 3rd eyelid protrudes a bit … usually at the corner of the eye. It is easily treated by a vet who can “tuck” it via surgery.)
Fortunately for Dewey, he had a guardian angel who provided for his treatment. (Thanks, Carol!) Dewey is healthy and up to date on his vaccines. He was listed as a “long haired chihuahua mix” at the shelter.
Dewey is raring to make the most of life. He loves being carried (who doesn’t?) and able to look at his surroundings from a higher perch.
Dewey is (understandably) wary of big dogs .. from his perspective they are gargantuan! He can be nervous when people grab for him (think King Kong!) so an adult home is best. He gets along great with most small breed dogs and respectful medium breeds. Dewey’s dream home would involve lots of lap time with intervals of lunching with the ladies and shopping while sitting in his own cushy carrier! (VL)
