Looking for an adventure buddy? Meet Eddie! This sweet and incredibly affectionate 3-month-old Dutch Shepard mix is going to warm your heart with wiggles when he greets you and covers you in kisses! He adores his people and will be your best friend, sticking by your side on adventures and snuggling up with you on the couch. Dutch Shepards are incredibly loyal and Eddie is no exception!
Even though he is just a pup, he is mastering puppy obedience including leash manners, alerts when he needs to potty, crate trained, and is calm for his age. Eddie is working on “wait,” which is crucial for manners in the house and car. He loves to play with small dogs and is happy in the house when she has a squeaky plush toy to chew on. He currently weighs approximately 10 pounds and we estimate his full weight to be approximately 50 pounds (no guarantees).
Eddie adores other dogs after a proper introduction, and is submissive around alpha dogs, flipping over and showing his puppy tummy. He wants to meet cats with a sniff, so cats who set boundaries would be best. Eddie will thrive in a household that has breed experience and is willing to continue his ongoing socialization and obedience training. He is looking for an active home who understands the needs of the breed and is prepared to meet both his mental and physical requirements. Eddie needs at least 1 hour of exercise a day plus plenty of mental stimulation to keep his mind busy. As a full grown dog, expect to provide him with 2 hours of exercise a day. He is not the type of dog who will be content just hanging out in the backyard and he will not take days off. Eddie is already proving to be an amazing hiking and biking partner (in his puppy back pack), who thrives when enjoying the outdoors with his humans! (TS)
