Medium (25 – 60 lbs) Learn MoreMeet Flash! This handsome boy is an approximately 1 year-old, 59 pound German Shepherd/Doberman mix looking for his forever family. He came to us emaciated from a local shelter that was overfilled and we are working on helping him gain some weight.
Flash is super-friendly with everyone he meets and loves people’s attention. Evidently, he did not have a lot of training before coming to us, so you’d have to reinforce house-training and help him learn basic obedience manners. Training should be a part of his new life
Flash has a bad left knee and hips, which are most likely genetic; he has also been diagnosed with arthritis. The vet who examined him believes surgery wouldn’t be helpful and recommends anti-inflammatory and pain medication (as necessary) as medical management. Despite the aforementioned diagnosis, Flash loves going for long walks! (He will not be able to accompany you on extensive hikes, though.)
This medical difficulty is more than compensated by Flash’s personality. He’s a very happy and playful dog who likes to express his love and admiration for people with every chance that he gets. We’re looking for a family who will be able to cater to his medical needs and will provide adequate opportunities for mental stimulation to keep him occupied.
If you are interested in adopting this handsome boy, please submit an adoption application online. https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/
A volunteer will contact you. (OA)
Flash is also looking for a foster home!
