Flynn is a 5 month-old male Belgian Malinois puppy who currently weighs around 30lbs with an estimated mature weight of 70-80 pounds. (No guarantees!) Flynn is extremely friendly and the type of dog who wants to greet every single person who walks past. True to his breed he is extremely intelligent, focused, very eager to please, and bonds tightly to one person. Unlikely many Malinois puppies he’s not mouthy at all and doesn’t seem to have too high of a prey drive. (Caveat: this may change as he gets older.) He has an amazing amount of potential and picks up new things in a heartbeat so his forever family will need to be very committed to his ongoing training and socialization.
Flynn is also great with other dogs, though he is definitely submissive and can be a bit timid when meeting new larger dogs. His confidence is growing by the day, but we think he will always be a dog who is pretty respectful of other dogs’ boundaries. He is currently living with a senior Aussie and a cat and has been great with both. He isn’t overly playful like some puppies, and takes corrections well from his opinionated senior foster brother. Flynn would probably be fine living with a range of different types of dogs, but he would also do great as an only dog. He is really all about his person!
Flynn is the definition of a Velcro dog. He follows his foster mom everywhere and is always up for some cuddles. He really thrives on human attention. According to his foster mom Flynn is “pretty perfect”. He is fully house trained, has never been destructive in any way, walks great on leash, and isn’t a big barker. (Please do not expect perfection, as puppies can and do change on the daily.) Like most Malinois he is a high energy young pup who needs multiple hours of strenuous exercise a day. He would be an amazing running partner and would excel in dog sports like agility.
