Medium (25 – 60 lbs) Learn MoreFreddy is a 10 month-old, 47 pound Labrador/Pitbull mix. He is a sweet-natured, affectionate guy who loves people. He also loves to wrestle, toss his toy raccoon around and run to get balls.
He is great with other dogs he’s met on or off-leash with his foster family. He just wants to play! He is very interested in chasing things so would probably chase a cat though.
He is a high energy guy that needs lots of active things to do- hiking & running are important to help him settle down while at home. For a puppy, he is pretty relaxed though he has the puppy curiosity and likes to get into things at nose level. He pulls on the leash when he sees other dogs but generally has good leash behavior.
Freddy is also fairly intelligent. He seems to learn new things very quickly. And since he is treat motivated, positive reinforcement training will be a fun adventure and a great way for him to bond with his new family. He’d also love to graduate from puppy school once campuses are open again.
Ultimately, his best trait is that he is a lover. When uncertain, he likes to be close. If he fit in laps, he would be one happy dog and snuggle time on the couch or at bedtime is his favorite.
Freddy would do well in an adult only home or with dog savvy children age 12 and up. He still gets a bit mouthy when playing and will need to learn that people hands are not okay to chomp on! It’s a puppy trait that can be adorable, but also bad manners that he will need practice with overcoming.
If you are ready to commit to a sweet guy who needs some attention, Freddy would love to meet you! Please submit an application and a volunteer will be in touch shortly (KF).
