Medium (25 – 60 lbs) Learn MoreThis is Gloria, and she is ready for a fresh start. We estimate that she is around 3 years old, and looks like a lab/shepherd mix. She’s 46 pounds and could stand to gain a bit more.
We rescued Gloria along with several other dogs from a hoarding case. She’s suffered neglect and she is not immediately prepared to trust new people. She is a sweet pooch that is quite curious and is loving the exploration of the outdoors and all the new smells it has to offer. She looks forward to her walks and has done a great job improving on her house training over the past several weeks. Her love for treats and willingness to comply for them are almost insatiable! She loves her scratches behind the ears and under the chin. Her big heart and appreciation for the love provided by caregivers never goes unnoticed.
She has some scars from a past injury on her front right leg and we are not clear on the nature of the injury. It can hinder some of her comfort in agile movement particularly around stairs or tight spaces. However she doesn’t let her stop her and has no limits in her mobility.
She has not had much experience in meeting new dogs on leash or in public areas, and is often afraid of dogs approaching her. She will need someone to manage her needs so she can continue to have good experiences with other dogs and gain confidence in her socializing skills. She will need continued emphasis on training.
If you would like to meet Gloria, please submit an application and a volunteer will be in touch. (KF).
