Heidi, who is about 9 weeks old, loves to play chase and loves to play with her foster sisters. Heidi is rambunctious and confident mixed with a dash of spunk and has LOTS of energy! She is working on house training and with your continued puppy training, she will be an amazing dog.
We believe she is a Schnauzer and terrier mix (this is a guess!) and will most likely be about 35 lbs when fully grown.
Heidi says, “If you are ready to commit to daily training and socialization and you can be home every 2-3 hours/day, then maybe you’re the person for one of me! I would love a home who’s committed to being with me most of the time, especially when I’m this young. I have so much learning and bonding to do! I do super-well with human toddlers, kids and other dogs. I’d love an older doggie buddy at home to play with and learn from.”
Before you submit your application for one of our cute, button faces please take a moment to read and think about the following:
Training your puppy: When it comes to any puppy, think about what the dog is being encouraged to do now and ask yourself if this will be wanted behavior when the puppy is bigger and stronger. So while it may be adorable when a tiny puppy jumps up on people for attention, climbs up onto the couch and gnaws on people’s hands, that behavior isn’t so cute when the puppy is adult size, with adult teeth. Plan to take basic training classes with your new dog. A class builds the skills for the dog and creates lasting bonds with his or her new family. Socializing: Have puppies meet as many nice people and other animals as possible to learn and keep great social skills. Protect them from bad experiences. Fear causes many dogs to become defensive, and defensive behavior is seen as aggression.
Are you ready for a full time job with one of Heidi? Are you committed to cleaning, training and socializing her for the rest of her life? If you are ready for puppyhood (being home every 2-3 hours), Heidi would love to meet you. Please fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you. (BS)
