Meet Homer, a 4-5 year-old Pit Bull mix! Rocket Dog is so lucky because his foster mom is doing her dog training internship and she chose Homer! Lucky Homer, lucky us!
Here’s what she has to say about this handsome hunk:
“Under foster care, Homer quickly relaxed and was able to adjust to city life. He walks calmly on a loose leash and has learned to disregard the humans or dogs as they pass by. Homer does not suffer from separation anxiety and is calm when alone for a couple of hours. He also does not do any damage when left alone and has learned to stick to his toys. He is completely housetrained. He is eager to please his human and very quickly learned basic manners such as waiting at the door, sit, down and recall. Homer stays close to his human on walks and does not look bothered if other dogs approach. He will growl if a large dog barks asking for space. Overall he rarely barks and is pretty chill at home. He does have fun energy in the mornings and loves to play tug.
“Homer loves to cuddle and sometimes acts like a little lap dog. He is sensitive to very hot weather and enjoys a bath to cool off. Homer is not a scavenger and not overly food-oriented. He does not go searching around for tidbits on a walk.”
Who is the perfect match for Homer? An adult family or one with older children. He is a great dog to hang out with inside the house and a wonderful companion for those working from home. The athletic build (65 pounds) makes it easy for him to join you on hikes! He is good with another dog who’s mellow or alone. Want to meet Homer? He is quite the conversation starter! Reach out so that we can meet and find out if we’re a good match! (MC)
