After arriving in Noe Valley from a rescue group in Mexico in early May, a couple days after their first vaccine, they developed a rough bout of kennel cough and were ill with the rare distemper virus. They battled through it and recovered well, with the aid of their amazing foster family.
The male, Hudson, 5 months, is currently 35 lbs, and will probably weigh 65+ pounds. He’s smart and caring for his sibling with a lot of puppy energy. He likes to play fetch, and was the fastest to potty train (within 48 hours)! He comes when called and loves to wrestle and obliterate chew toys. He seems to have an affection for water as well, so it will be fun to see him fully vaccinated and out at Fort Funston! He’s a pretty quiet guy in general and gets excited when it’s food time. He loves to be the first to say hello. We’ve been training the pair to have longer and longer stretches of independent time as well. They don’t whine when you leave and have been on their own in the yard for about six hours with no problems. He will find things to do like play tug with your plants but he does it free of feeling anxious and lonely! The pair have been sleeping in a separate room on their own for the last month, they are happy to say goodnight, sleep through the night, then cheerily wake you for breakfast.
