Large (60 – 100 lbs) Learn MoreIntroducing the one and only Hyde, the one-year-old (eighty pound) Bloodhound with a personality as unique as his nose! Hyde is an absolute sweetheart who loves snuggles, full-body massages, and checking in on his humans.
Hyde may have a few quirks, but he’s quick to overcome his fears, whether it’s tackling stairs, large rocks, or the Bay water waves. Most of the time, he’s lounging around, taking life at a leisurely pace, but he does have his moments of excitement when he becomes a jumpy and playful ball of fur.
Hyde loves chasing sticks and occasionally indulges in a game of fetch with a bouncing Kong or a gnaw on a stuffed Kong. Hyde’s best qualities shine through in his good-natured and people-oriented demeanor. He may be a bit reserved when meeting new folks, but after a friendly sniff, he warms up and becomes the perfect companion. He’s especially curious about the neighborhood kids, showing an interest in playdates with them.
When it comes to house training, Hyde hasn’t had any accidents indoors, although he hasn’t quite learned to ask for outdoor breaks yet. He’s still mastering his leash manners on walks, occasionally pulling to follow an intriguing scent.
Hyde is sociable when passing by other dogs on walks, showing interest but remaining well-behaved on the leash. Hyde does well in his crate when left alone, with only occasional howling. (Please do your research on hounds if you are not familiar with them.) He may resort to scratching at the door in a room, so a crate is the preferred choice for his downtime.
Hyde is still a young pup, so a bit of training and patience will turn him into the perfect companion for an adopter who appreciates his unique personality and endless charm. So, if you’re ready for a loving, silly, and slightly quirky companion, Hyde is the one for you! Bonus points if you have a yard where Hyde can do lots of sniffing. (GC)
