This camera-shy cutie is called James; he’s about 1 1/2 – 2 yrs old, a mix of breeds, and a super-cute perfect 35 lbs!
James was left behind when his “family” moved away and left him there. Poor James was running back and forth looking for them and then, in a scary moment, was hit by a car! He was brought to Rocket Dog Rescue and we were told that he was bruised up and would be fine.
We took him directly to our vet. We were shocked to find that sweet James had broken hips and a fractured pelvis. We are grateful to be able to help this poor lil guy and this information has understandably changed how we are approaching his adoption.
At this time James is awaiting FHO surgery. The specialist felt it was best to wait for his pelvic fractures to heal before he will have surgery.
Because of his medical status we realize that changes what kind of home he might need and that whomever adopts him will need to be comfortable supporting him during and after his surgery, (as we would ideally like to have him in his forever home while he awaits surgery.)
The reality is that James has been through a bit of a rough patch and he sure does needs all the extra kindness he can get. And that’s where you come in!
What James needs most is a place to rest his weary head. To love and be loved. To build trust. He likes other dogs and is a friendly guy. He radiates love. He’s ready. Are you?
