Kyle is an approximately 1-year-old, 25 pound mystery mix who was rescued from a hoarding situation where he lived with over 70 other dogs in poor conditions. Kyle will need a patient adopter and a quiet home to help him adjust and learn to accept love. Kyle is timid and doesn’t enjoy being picked up, but loves being pet once he knows you. He loves treats, especially cheese. He loves his crate and will retreat to it as a safe place to rest. Kyle has a low-to-medium energy level and spends a lot of the day napping, but also loves to get out for long walks. He would do well with 1-2 hours of exercise a day.
Bonus: one of our volunteers has been bringing him to work all week and reports: ” Kyle does really well at my workplace; all he does here is sleep in his crate.”
Kyle does well on a leash and will follow along at whatever pace you choose. He is at least partially house trained and knows to do his business outside. Kyle enjoys being around other dogs and would probably do very well with another medium energy dog who can help him build his confidence and teach him how to be a dog. He’s generally submissive with other dogs and has shown interest in playing with them, but he is still learning how to socialize. Kyle has passed by cats and squirrels on walks and hasn’t shown much interest, but hasn’t been officially cat tested. Kyle will do best in a calm household with dog-savvy children 14+.
If you’re interested in learning more about Kyle, fill out an adoption application and a volunteer will be in touch. (GS)
