Lucy is a soft, gentle soul. She is initially fearful with new people and in new situations, and looks to those she trusts for reassurance. In her current foster home she has really blossomed. She adores her foster mom. She loves sleeping on cozy beds and couches, especially if you’re there too. She loves chewing on bully sticks and Kongs, and is learning how to play with toys. She enjoys long walks on quiet streets (and she’s not a puller at all). She is potty-trained, and very food motivated! So once she’s comfortable, Lucy is just a regular loving pup!
Lucy would prefer a quiet household with humans that can show her love and patience as she adjusts. Lots of people coming and going isn’t her thing. She would also love to have a backyard or at least a quiet neighborhood where she can feel comfortable going for walks. She is ok with other dogs after a slow proper introduction. The truth is that she may be scared of you at first. But within a day or two that’ll all change, and she will fall in love with you, and you will too. It will be a very special, very powerful bond. Lucy will change your life.
This amazing girl is patiently waiting for her forever home, and needs another foster home in the meantime, since her foster mom has a lot of traveling coming up. We think Lucy is about 3 years old, 80 lbs, and maybe some sort of Pointer/Labrador/Staffordshire Terrier/Rottweiler mix, but who knows!
If you’re ready to really, truly, rescue a dog, and meet your soul mate, please apply to meet sweet Lucy. A volunteer will be in touch. (MM)
