Meet Mason! This goofy little guy is 32 lbs. of wiggly goodness looking for his forever home. We’re not sure how old he is, but he has a lot of puppyish characteristics. (Our best guess estimate is 1-2 years old.)
Whatever his age, Mason has the energy of a puppy: he’s super playful and will happily walk, chase his ball, and play tug-of-war all day long. He can start off nervous/fearful by barking when he meets new people, but after a few minutes he warms right up and will gladly take all of your pets and snuggles. Once he knows he can trust you, he just wants to be around you all the time.
We rescued Mason not long ago after he was abandoned on the side of the road and very underweight. In the short time he’s been with us, he’s come back up to a healthy weight and is catching on quickly when it comes to learning his basic commands. He’s gone from being a very scared little guy to a rambunctious and affectionate pup.
Mason will do best with active owners who are committed to continuing his training. He has begun house-training and will need a family that will be committed to giving him ample time and attention to continue working on it with him. Mason should not be alone for more than a couple of hours per day during this crucial training and bonding time.
Due to his puppy-like antics he may be “too much” for young children, so we prefer a home with dog-savvy children aged 10 and up. Mason has not been cat-tested.
