Meet our newest Rocket Dog: Max Chauncey! He is a two year-old, 64 pound pit bull who is looking for his forever and ever.
MC would thrive in a home without cats and or small children, because though he loves kids, sometimes he doesn’t realize how big he is! He would do well with another patient dog to show him the ropes and who can set boundaries. He wasn’t socialized when he was young, so he is still learning how to make dog friends and not be “too much” for other dogs. He loves walking around with a ball and is good on the leash. He knows sit, down, and is learning to shake. He loves to play the running part of fetch, but in order to get the ball out of his mouth, you need to have another one handy for a switch out.
Max C gives full-body snuggles and likes to constantly be touching/pressed against his person. He is a dog that likes to please and would make a great companion. He seems to want to go to the bathroom outside, so he hasn’t had any accidents in the house. He is fine once in the crate, but getting him in there takes some muscle. With consistency and patience (and treats!) he will get used to it.
All in all he is a sweet dog who has maintained some of his puppy goofiness. (Pit bulls are late maturers, so this is typical.) He chases his tail, tosses his ball around by himself and has major “wiggle butt” when he is happy. He is an energetic curious dog, while still being a snuggle monster. An active person who likes to chill at night would be a great person for Max Chauncey.
