The person who left you there never returns; your puppies have been sold, so they don’t need you anymore. Animal control picks you up the next day, then a Rocket Dog Rescue foster family takes you home, and you begin to realize that you are safe.
Despite Missy’s rough start, she is incredibly good-natured, playful and affectionate with her foster family. She loves to be petted and will flop over on her back for belly rubs at every opportunity! Missy also loves to play fetch and to play with toys. She gets along well with other dogs, though she can be overwhelmed by rough play. Missy walks beautifully on a loose leash without pulling and is a wonderful walking and hiking companion. (She’s also very beautiful and always gets lots of compliments when out on walks!) She jumps right into the van and rides quietly in a crate on car rides. Missy also is crate-trained in the house and is quiet and mellow in her foster home.
Missy can be wary of new people (may try to avoid them) and probably will need some time to warm up to a new family, but once she feels comfortable, she is a joy to be around. We think she would do best in a home without children (or perhaps with older [14+] dog-savvy kids). Missy has not been cat-tested.
Missy is approximately 2 yrs old and weighs 74 pounds. We are guessing she’s a Shepherd/Rottweiler/Retriever mix?
