Owen is a happy, jolly and affectionate 8-9 year old Patterdale Terrier mix and weighs 18 pounds on average.
Don’t be fooled by his age – Owen is an easygoing perfect buddy who is incredibly cute and sweet.
He is relatively inactive indoors and in the backyard; you could have a quiet companion at home who is no fuss and is well-trained. However, Owen also loves taking daily, brisk, walks.
He is a bundle of energy outdoors. He is a laid-back terrier, and is not as yappy like other terriers.
Owen has a soft and smooth mostly black coat with some brown. He has a cute under bite with some missing teeth. But that just adds to his cuteness He is potty trained up to 5 to 6 hours without 24/7 access to dog door not a “City
boy”, would be best with a quiet home with his person or adult humans
able to spend time with him. Favorite pastimes include car rides and
belly rubs.
He would be best placed with a person or family that isn’t overly active and is calm. He has experienced infrequent seizures that usually happen when overstimulated or stress, but he is now on medication and had not had an incident since.
Owen was relinquished in San Jose by a senior that was no longer able to take care of him. He would require little grooming, and sheds the average amount. He is great when given a bath – easygoing guy!
Since Owen has been fostered, he has softly barked only twice, so he would not make a good guard dog 🙂 – he is only up for cuddling! Owen’s current foster parent works from home in San Jose, so he has a lot of love throughout the day.
Owen enjoys curling up by the backdoor or being in the living room if you are in there. Owen is easy company and no fuss at all. He prefers to sleep in the living room at night. Since he is 100% potty trained, he has not been crated at nights.
Owen is very sweet, affectionate, and submissive. When it’s time for a belly rub, he wags his tail and flips over on his back letting you know it’s time. He just loves his belly rubs!!
Favorite pastimes include sleeping, sunning in the backyard and walks; however not fond of toys or treats. He is not very motivated by food. To date, no shoes, blankets, furniture or anything have been feasted upon – Owen is not destructive.
Owen is very good at letting his humans know when it is time to walk, even when he doesn’t need to go out.
Owen has excellent doggie manners – he does not jump on the furniture or people. He is trained to stay out the kitchen and doesn’t beg for food.
