Rita is a sweet 5-month-old Shepherd/Boxer puppy. She is curious, super smart, and very loving. Rita loves to snuggle, is great with other dogs, and forms an attachment with her person right away. Rita will follow you around wherever you go. She is doing great with potty training, leash training, and is learning her general obedience skills quickly (e.g., sit, shake, etc.). She is playful, and quite calm for a puppy. She is happiest when her person is nearby, and is getting more and more comfortable with short periods of separation. Rita also sleeps very well in her crate at night.
Her foster states, “I think Rita would be great with kids, and other dogs just based on what I’ve seen so far. I haven’t seen her with super young children, but 6 and up seems good. She has already learned her soft mouthing well. She has never accidentally nipped me or my dog once while playing. Also, I have a dog door and she learned to use it quickly and (almost) always goes out on her own to potty.”
Rave reviews for our sweet Rita! Gentle reminder that puppies are a lot of work and need consistency, exercise, and training to be the best dogs they can be. Rocket Dog highly encourages and recommends professional puppy training classes. If you can’t be home every 2-3 hours during this initial bonding time, please consider adopting an older dog.
We estimate Rita to be 60 pounds (or more!). She has not been cat-tested.
