Are you ready to meet Rooster, a super sweet 1-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix pup (approx. 46 lbs)? Rooster is curious and playful and his foster dad says he is also a great cuddler! He sleeps on his own bed beside his foster dad’s bed and only jumps on the bed when invited. He loves to cuddle before getting up and starting the day — such a good boy!
He enjoys going to the local dog park, always on leash, plays well with other dogs and is friendly with people. He wags his tail and eagerly approaches other dogs in a playful way. He is never reactive to other dogs, even when they snap at him! His walks are 45 mins to an hour, twice a day. Among his many endearing qualities, Rooster has a “love/hate” relationship with firetrucks and sometimes does his own version of the siren – so adorable!
Rooster is food motivated, great for training, and has been working hard on his basic leash training with his foster dad! He loves playing with plush toys, squeaky toys, chew toys and chasing the ball — until he loses interest. Rooster is outgoing when meeting new people and other dogs. He is very social and has done well when meeting children. He does exhibit that normal puppy excitement, so best in a home with older children (he may be too rambunctiousness for young ones), and would benefit from an active household with at least 2 hours of exercise per day.
Rooster is already house trained and will paw at the door to let you know he needs to go outside! As he’s still a young boy, he needs to continue to work on recall and should always be on leash until good recall has been established.
Rooster is quite the charmer with a face that makes your heart melt! He is gentle and a quick learner. How can you resist?!!
