Our Rosita has had a monumental journey since coming to the Rocket Dog Sanctuary and her last step is you! She arrived as a skinny, malnourished dog with a heart of gold – all smiles and waggy tail for every volunteer who came to nurse her back to health. That heart of gold remains, and our sweet Rosie now shines as a smart, spunky, healthy girl!
Rosita is a 5-year-old, 50lb pittie mix. In her opinion, she makes the perfect lap dog or weighted blanket! She is house trained, crate trained (though she prefers a fluffy blanket on the couch or a nice dog bed), understands how to settle quietly during the workday, has been comfortable when left alone, and is quickly picking up new obedience skills. She’s worked out sit, stay, and is working on shake and down!
While she has the stamina for long hikes or runs and can have bursts of playful energy (tug of war, anyone?) Rosie is also perfectly content to find a comfy nap spot or just hang out near her people when they’re busy. Out in the world, she loves to explore and eagerly struts down the sidewalk – though she has not been a big “puller” on leash!
She has shown interest in playing with other dogs and has had several polite doggie meetings. However, Rosita needs some additional guidance and training to learn better social skills so for now she would benefit from being an “only dog”.
Sweet and loving Rosita will make an incredible and loyal companion, could you be the forever home she’s been waiting for? To learn more or meet Rosita, please fill out an application and a volunteer will be in touch! (EL)
