Hi! I’m Saskia!
I am a 35 lb, 8-month old, smart, peppy Pittie mix found with my mom and litter mates in an orchard in Bakersfield, and now looking for a forever home. My current family says that the scar down my back is where “my wings attach” but it also means I probably had some tough times when I was a puppy. It is also probably why some things make me nervous and I need a calm experienced family – but overall I’m full of love and have personality for days … from my wiggly walk to my wagging tail.
I learn fast and know a lot of commands (some of which I am still learning to follow consistently) and I love every person I meet, although sometimes to a fault since I still can’t always resist jumping up on people when I greet them. I can’t get enough of playing like crazy with other high-energy dogs or bounding over dunes and through high grass. I love other dogs – although not when they are barking on the other side of the fence – and I’d likely be a perfect second dog for a family with an older, calmer dog who is looking for company and who can show me what’s what. My ideal family would be someone who is super dog-savvy and is able to give me further training and structure. (Maybe you’re active and need a running buddy?)
BTW, I’ve realized I’d probably be happiest in a family without young kids or cats. Crate trained? Yes! Housebroken? Totally. Want to meet you? 100%!
I really would love an experienced foster home till I found my forever home. Any takers?
