Large (60 – 100 lbs) Learn MoreScooter is a one year old Shepsky (German Shepherd, Husky mix). Weighing in at 75 lbs, Scooter has the body of an adult but the mind of a puppy. Anyone know how that feels?!
While the combination of German Shepherd and Husky makes him uniquely beautiful, Scooter seems to have the temperament of a German Shepherd. He is highly intelligent and eager to learn. He has not proven himself to be an escape artist (like most huskies!) and he really wants to please his humans (like most shepherds!).
Scooter is high energy and is curious about everything. He’s been through a lot of changes lately and needs a place to land so he can decompress. He will need patience while he settles into his forever life, but this beautiful boy has a winning personality and unlimited potential.
Scooter has learned all his basic commands, is house trained and crate trained. Scooter still has some puppy tendencies, like jumping and mouthing when he gets excited, but he takes direction really well and is making progress with learning his manners. Scooter is very playful and his favorite game is chasing bubbles! He also likes to chase a ball, or play in water. Mostly, he just wants a BFF to spend his days with. Scooter likes other dogs, but has to work on his social skills. As is typical of his breed, he may end up being dog-selective and prefer human companionship. He likes to be brushed and LOVES belly rubs. Scooter is an intelligent dog and is looking for active humans who can take the time to continue training and bonding. Scooter would do best in a home with an experienced adopter, German Shepherd experience a plus. Scooter loves children, but because he has demonstrated some resource guarding, Scooter should be the only dog in the home and needs a home with no children under 12 years old.

Scooter could really use a foster home to decompress, while he awaits his forever one.
