Tucker is an approximately 1.5-year-old chihuahua mix who weighs around 11 lbs. With his big Yoda-like ears, Tucker is a real charmer. An extremely loving and loyal dog, Tucker has a nice medium energy level and is equally happy keeping up with you on a hike or chilling with you on the couch for a night in.
In the home, Tucker likes to alternate between cuddling and playing. He especially loves tug of war and playing with children. He adores kids of all ages and has also done well living with cats as well as other dogs around his size.
Tucker is crate trained and currently sleeps in his crate through the night. He is house trained but does sometimes mark when he is in new places (like a friend’s house). He is very food motivated and thrives on positive reinforcement.
Tucker bonds very closely with his people and can be protective of them. This can include barking at strangers on walks or at new people coming into the home. However, he warms up to new people very quickly and is a total lovebug once he knows someone.
If you’re looking for a (fairly) easygoing, chill little buddy, Tucker might be the dog for you. Although he is already a fantastic dog, Tucker is still young and has some things to learn, so he would do best in a home that is ready to put in some work on further training and socialization. If you think Tucker might be a good fit for you, please fill out an adoption application and a volunteer will be in touch. (GS)
