Hi, I’m Spuds! I am a 1-2 year old Bull Terrier, weighing in at around 50lbs. My current residence is the Rocket Dog Rescue Sanctuary. It’s not so bad, I gets lots of attention from the volunteers. They take me on adventures sometimes and give me snacks, so that’s cool. But it would be so awesome to find one of those forever homes they’re always talking about! One where I can sleep on the couch, have my own toy basket, and with humans who can spend alot of time with me. That would be a dream come true!
My friends at the Sanctuary say I’m a really good boy as long as I get some good exercise! Apparently I have a lot to learn, whatever that means. They say my ideal family should be able to provide me 1-2 hours of exercise minimum per day, have prior dog experience (bully breed experience is a plus!), and they should have the time & patience to teach me all the things I need to know to be successful in the big wide world. Patience will be a must because I’m still very puppy like and can be pretty mischievous.
I LOVE meeting new people! Which is easy because I get a lot of attention. I might as well be a celebrity, supposedly there are some famous dogs that look like me. I’ll believe it when I see it. I could be successful in a home with kids as long as the adults establish safe boundaries between me and the kids. I do have a lot of energy so I can be a bit mouthy when I don’t know how else to release my excitement. I’ve also been told I don’t know my own strength, so a home with dog-savvy kids over 8 years would be best. I don’t want to hurt anyone by mistake or get in trouble for knocking a kid over.
I am interested in other dogs. I’ve mostly been observing them calmly, taking notes from a distance. I haven’t had much dog-to-dog socialization, so I am still learning how to make friends with my own species. It seems others don’t like to be humped but I haven’t figured out what they do like. I’ll need some guidance on a more polite way to make doggy friends, because I do really want to play!
Thanks for taking the time to read about me, Spuds! The one & only! If you think you can commit to providing me with all the things I need to be successful in life, please submit an application. My advocate will be in touch. I can’t wait to meet you! (KM)
