Meet Toby! This handsome boy is an approximate 4 year-old, 63 pound Siberian Husky looking for his forever family. His original owner was diagnosed with a serious illness and could not continue to care for Toby due to his health condition.
Toby is super-friendly with everyone he meets and loves people’s attention. He loves children and politely accepts petting and snuggling from them giving lots of kisses in return. He does well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes.
According to Toby’s previous foster dad, he is super well-behaved in the house, non-destructive, house-trained and crate-trained.
Toby would be best-suited in a home that has breed experience, and without cats.
Toby is mildly handicapped but gets around just fine. His left hind leg is somewhat impaired but a vet who examined him says that we should not do a surgery. He loves going for long walks but probably will not be able to accompany you on extensive hikes. Recommended medical management for this boy includes anti-inflammatory and pain medication as necessary, and potentially some form of exercise restriction.
This medical difficulty is more than compensated by Toby’s personality. He’s a very happy and playful dog who likes to express his love and admiration for people with every chance that he gets. We’re looking for a family who will be able to cater to his medical needs and will provide adequate opportunities for mental stimulation to keep him occupied.
