Toy (0 – 10 lbs) Learn MoreHi there, my name is Toto and I am a much older gentleman looking for a soft and quiet home.
Yes, I am around 15 years old and weigh around 5 lbs, but don’t let my age fool you. I still have spunk and like to go on my occasional strolls in the neighborhood. I love being with my foster mama and being as close to her as I can. I love hanging out in my sling in her lap when she’s reading or working from home on the laptop.
I am pretty easygoing, but do need a home that is up to the task of caring for an older gent like me.
The best home for me would be someone who can provide me with lots of hands on TLC. I am adorable and sweet, but I need a lot of care and attention. Maybe someone who is retired or someone who works from home would want to take me into their loving and quiet home? I am a bit of a helpless baby who needs a lot of tender, loving care and attention.
I love to go out of the house in the sling. I don’t walk much, but love to still see and sniff the world from the safety of my sling. I like to be carried and be close to you. My foster mama does the walking for me most of the time and takes me with her on errands in the sling.
I am overall healthy, according to the recent Vet visit, but I am older so please keep that in mind. My jaw is a little funny so I eat only soft foods (my tongue gets to stick out all cute). I have some stubs left for teeth that don’t seem to be bothering me much. But in terms of food, I do have a system that works best for me. When I first came to foster, I had some bowel issues; that has been resolved with the amazing patience and creativity of my foster mom. I eat baby food mixed with dehydrated dog food with some added sweet potato and tiny pieces of chicken or turkey. It’s scrumptious and I love it and feel so good on this diet. I hope my forever family is able to continue this diet with me in my new home.
Other things to note, is that I have a heart murmur, but otherwise relatively healthy for my age. Vet said I don’t need any meds for it and seem to be very comfortable. I am also not the best at holding on to my bladder. My foster mom has a system that works great and she gives me an area to potty on pads and takes me out frequently for potty breaks.
I am a sweet boy and happiest around humans. I am indifferent about other dogs and (probably cats) but would prefer a home without any loud or rambunctious big dogs due to my fragile state.
My ideal home would be the following:
- quiet, calm and gentle home
- no kids
- no other big, rambunctious dogs
- could possibly be matched with an older tolerable cat
- someone who likes to give a lot of attention and baby their senior pet
- someone who understands the needs and commitment to caring for a senior dog
If you’ve read my story thoroughly and feel like we could be a match, please submit an adoption application and a volunteer will respond to you shortly. (BS)
